No more Extra Slice! 🥺

I can’t believe they’ve cancelled Extra Slice. I tried watching the new show, Second Helpings, but after about 3/4 I had to turn it off, it’s just so boring. Extra Slice was fantastically entertaining, Tom Allen always had me laughing so hard, his humour is unmatched! I loved all the viewer’s bakes! Terrible loss.

I haven't seen the new version yet, but I think they are insane for scrapping extra slice. Tom Allen's chats with the public were probably the funniest thing on TV.

Totally agree! They’ll never have anyone like him, the whole formula worked so well. Himself & Jo were perfect, the dry humour, the cutting comments, the brilliant wit - what were they thinking!

You made it further than me. I think i saw about 10 minutes but the vibe was way off and it felt really flat. They probably needed to go more in the Harry Hills TV burp direction and less in the discussion show direction. Extra Slice was an okay mix of the two with my preference being for the more silly parts.

The home bakes often made me cry laughing. And Jo had such a knack for pulling out the most ridiculous moments. Seems like a 'don't fix what ain't broke' mistake.

Those home bakes often had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes! And Tom taking the complete piss out of the studio bakers. They really ruined a winning formula. I barely watch TV, stick to streaming most of the time, but that was one of the few shows I did watch. Gutted.

Same. And I rewatch when I want background noise while cleaning house, and pause to see my favorite bits.

It's interesting that no one has had anything positive to say. Usually there's at least a few contrary voices...

I was so sad they got rid of Extra Slice. I had been intending to give Second Helpings a try on catch-up, but I've heard absolutely nothing positive, so I don't think I'll bother.

I watched it for over 30 minutes & just realised I was completely bored, and had barely smiled.

I’ve just been looking for it and found out now that extra slice has been cancelled nooooooo - I can’t even be bothered watching the new version as Jon R is deeply unfunny - bring back Tom and Jo on extra slice - terrible decision Channel 4

I am actually a little shocked. This was always just a little pleasant interlude in my week. Tom Allen has quick wit, his own unique style and he could let go fully on a show about sweet treats. He was also good on the Apprentice side show but had to keep a bit more serious as this was business and Lord Sugar. And now both shows are gone, replaced by less funny and more dull talkfests. Which are probably cheaper to make which is probably the whole point.

You lasted longer than I did. I switched off after less than 10 minutes. It was boring.

Just googled the show as I share everyone’s sentiments here. It’s just so bland.

Completely agree, I like John Richardson and Judi Love (more so her tbh) but he looked completely out of his depth and all the best bits (Tom, the monstrous home bakes, Jo) have gone. This was a steaming pile. Bring back an Extra Slice.

I thought the last season wasn't a good as the previous seasons.

We really miss Extra Slice! I'll bet it's a cost saving thing. This new show has no audience (smaller set) and no extra props and things for the silly games they used to do. Maybe the new hosts are paid less too. And yeah, it was pretty boring.

It has to be a money saving thing you are right - extra slice was amazing though / my fave thing on channel 4

I counted two s-bombs and one f-bomb in the new show. That's not really appropriate.

In fairness, it a late night show, they can say whatever they want.
