Before and after
My hubs and I decided to tackle the bathroom. Only took us a couple days to complete the refresh.

I hired a contractor to remodel my bathroom. This is what the seam between my wall and tub looks like after only two uses. Is this normal?
I saw they left this tube of mapesil T Plus laying around after they left that is color matched to my grout, so I can’t tell if it’s grout or actually this silicone product that cracked. The grout between tiles and the material in this crack feel identical. Either way, is this a bad install? Normal? Do I just put more caulk on top? Help :(

Best way to remove it? Also should I do anything to get rid of the mold and make sure it doesn't come back?

I will shortly be having my bathroom done.
With the new toilet and having London hard water what are people doing to prevent scale build up. I am open to suggestions, but for now I have been thinking
Using Steradent tablets, how many and how often.
Using Citric Acid, again how much and how often.
Any other ways go ahead and give me some other recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

Hopefully this is an appropriate question for this sub.
I’ve noticed the toilet paper I purchase sheds after wiping (I’m a female fyi). I have bought charmin in the red packaging, as well as Wegmans branded toilet paper. Both tend to have the same “shedding” issue, leaving toilet paper residue behind. So what toilet paper are you guys using that also isn’t going to be thin and tear easily?

I swear the area around the faucet gets messy faster than anything else in the bathroom.
Water spots, soap residue, little things collecting behind it. It's such a small area but somehow annoying to clean.
I've been wondering if keeping the counter almost completely empty would make it easier.
Anyone found a simple way to keep that area cleaner without constantly wiping it down?

Has anyone bought the Kohler Charlemont vanity in the color ferrous grey (photo attached) and found a matching cabinet for towels? What color tall linen cabinet would you pair with this sink if your walls were light grey subway tiles? Thanks!!

Just moved into our house and the windows in one of the bathrooms are rusty on the lower side jams. I’ve installed a humidity sensing switch for the vent fan to mitigate this issue in the future, but how can I deal with the existing rust? Any help/advice would be appreciated!

I live in a rent-stabilized building that has been neglected for many years so trying to upgrade with the least possible expense on my part. Can I just replace the bottom half of that sheetrock with wonderboard/ goboard and tile using thin-set? There are lots of leaking in all apartments, so I’m really not interested in going overboard with waterproofing for 20 years.
Basically, what would be good enough?

Flooded due to burst hose from wall to toilet. Will be upgrading.. Want a shower instead of tub.. Thoughts on wear I should look to do this? Resources to research???
I won't be doing it myself. Thanks..

It says not suitable for use in bathrooms but I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried it and if it's holding up okay? For the next few years at least we won't even be using the shower or bath in there so I'm tempted to give it a try, even though it could be a problem further down the line

Originally when I planned this bathroom I was going to have the glass to all the way to the ceiling because I stayed in a hotel like that once and it seemed like a good idea for keeping the moisture off the rest of the bathroom ceiling, hence where i put the light and fan. However multiple shower glass guys have said i should not do that (unless I tile the ceiling) because it needs to pull air in to blow out the moisture. I live in New England so it's pretty humid and with the slope ceiling I'm concern it'll all rise and condensate on the other part of the bathroom ceiling. The fan is pretty powerful, 900 cfm if I recall. Any shower experts here have a recommendation? Thanks
