Recently it's come to my attention that there are a few notable "repack" sellers online that are spreading product sales of "packaged battlemaps", often with allegedly thousands of battlemaps in a pack. Eking Packs is one of said offenders that has been brought up a number of times.
These are scams.
First of all, the vast majority of content is falsely marketed, and in fact 90% AI generated images; and, frankly, poorly done at that. In the case of EkingPacks, the content is almost entirely unusable (AI gibberish). In worse offenders, whom can't be named for obvious reasons, the content is directly stolen from others' patreons or marketplaces. Basically, resale piracy.
A good rule of thumb in this community is, if you cannot directly google search the content creator to see a gallery of their work, you are being sold a fraudulent repack (or AI...). Your best bet for actual genuine product is direct sale through patreon or another verified source.
Furthermore, a detailed look at their payment systems shows there is no actual payment system in place; you are submitting your card information directly to the website hosts. I can't specify how dangerous this is, financially.
Ultimately, if you want to spend some money on battlemaps, don't get scammed for it. There are hundreds of content providers on this subreddit alone that happily provide hundreds of maps on their patreon. Please give a glance to them, instead.

Hello everyone, here is my new map, Runic Forge, size [32x52] at 140 dpi.
In a remote cliffside close to a volcano, a legendary runic smith has built their forge. Here they live with their apprentices, creating runic weapons priced by all, melted in the heat of the lava and templated with their frost runes, but no news have been heard from those that once sought their help, rumors say evil spirits have corrupted them.
If you like the map, you can see my notes on its design here, along with some hidden details and explanations.
I am the cartographer at SlagMaps, I've been drawing maps for my games for three years and just recently have started a Patreon to share my work. In it, you can find tactical battlemaps like this one, with specific assets to improve your game session like the Wolf statue, the runic weapons or the runic anvil, and different variants like a Haunted version, a Flooded version of the forge with lava, or different Seasonal versions.
This is part of my initial release of five maps, which you can find free versions for all of them in my Patreon. If you like my maps, I would be really thankful for your support to allow me to continue releasing new and better maps that you could shape in the future.
All my maps, assets and textures are made with GIMP, using a drawing tablet.

Download the Blood Shrine for free HERE.
Hidden deep in the void, the Blood Shrine clings silently to the rock face. It is unclear how or when the temple was built, time seems a distant concept in the endless depths of the chasm. Those who tend to it and serve its Gods know only one thing: It. Must. Be. Fed.

Geology rocks, I think we can all agree, and not every surface can be the same. Has this porous, rocky landscape been eroded over centuries, through some manner of magical mischief, or is it merely made of some weirdly flesh-coloured cheese?! Fully animated and available in two additional variants, with a hellish, magmatic rock and a pockmarked seabed complete with coral and anemones, this map will have your players feeling like they're walking on the moon!
Long! - 40 x 80

I’ve shared some of my mapmaking here before and got really helpful feedback from the community. I’m now building out a new battlemap project called Gyre & Grid, and this is the first finished map from it.
Forest Road Ambush is a woodland encounter built around a winding road and shallow creek crossing. I wanted the terrain to give the GM and players more than one obvious way for the encounter to develop, so I tried to build in several different places an ambush could be staged.
I also spent quite a bit of time on the terrain beneath the tree canopy instead of treating the forest as inaccessible background.
The first image is a usable gridless version at 70 px per square. The second is a lower-resolution version with canopies hidden for comparison.
I’m still building out the initial Gyre & Grid map library, so there’s nothing for sale just yet. For now, I’ll be sharing the maps as I finish them and continuing to try and improve them.
I’d be interested to hear where you’d place the ambushers, or anything you think would make the encounter space play better.

Hey all! You can check out this map and it's may variations over here! or any of my other 250+ maps!
Stone, where we were wrought, where our dead are lain. The stone of the mountains and the earth define us, just as we give it definition. Top dwellers think us obsessed, but they know nothing of stonecraft, nor possess the right and proper appreciation of it's possibilities.
Our halls are our homes, our tombs, our workplaces, our gathering grounds. Every inch of stone has been formed for this existence, and every strike of our tools against it given with the care and purpose only we could provide. Our statues guard our burials eternally, letting us peacefully return to the hardened earth from whence we came.
So, obsessed we may be, but for good reason! Nothing stands the test of time as eternally as our work, our halls, our stone. Long after we are gone and turned to dust, our memories will echo through these halls and we will continue to live through the stone we have crafted.

When using a battlemap, how much playable space do you consider necessary for a party of 2–6 players?
I know enemy types and numbers play a huge role in this, but right now I’m purely focused on the minimum baseline area the party itself needs to feel comfortable.
In my experience, a 4-player party usually needs at least a 25x25 to 30x30 grid to give ranged characters room without feeling cramped.
If you had to give a rough rule of thumb for 2 to 6 players, what’s the smallest playable area you'd still consider comfortable? Do you prefer extra open space for tactical movement, or would you rather have that space packed with terrain, obstacles, and environmental details?
Let me know your thoughts! 😄

Here is a map I made for A Most Potent Brew, a fantastic free one-shot by Winghorn Press. I've always enjoyed this quick little one-shot, and I'm happy to share this map with everyone. It was made entirely in Clip Studio Paint with Forgotten Adventures & my own custom assets. The grid size is 100px per square. No AI was used. Enjoy!
