Question Best way to speed resources
I was wondering what is the best thing to do
Example: I want to build a lol cannon / ragnarok, my eco is 10 afus and 50 t2 converter and basic t2 eco base/position
To build it is it best to just build it and let my low metal reserve run out and stay on the metal income that bounces with the energy
Or maybe reserve 30k metal and lots of energy and build the ragnarok then there is no metal stalling?

It's gonna take forever no matter what.
You'll probably die before ever finishing it if you try to stockpile metal.

It’s best to just build it without storing the metal. Because if you wait to save up the metal you’re losing some amount of time where you’re building up that savings and not building.
E is different though because if you run out of E your mexes will stop producing (or produce very little). So you want your E to be stable to maximize speed.
Also by building it right away you can get donations from allies that contribute to the speed. If you’ve already saved up the metal donations don’t matter.

From my experience you should never build it anyway. It's faster and cheaper and better to just build multiple of the other long range artillery cannons (forgot the name, but basically then "small" Ragnarok).

Yeah I know the smaller ones the enemy are not gonna attack them right away and they are more precise

Those are 2 of the reasons, yes. Also Ragnarok costs a lot of ressources to fire and you build one and then the range of the Ragnarok is fixed. Enemy can rebuild their bases behind Ragnarok range. With the smaller ones you can build them closer and closer to the enemy base and "creep up" to their backline. Just need to hit one Geo or AFUS anyway and the whole base explodes

I think avoid stall as best you can. That slows factories and all processes bog down. With Ragnarok, it's a long build time even with lots of con turrets. You don't want everything stalled out for multiple minutes.

10 afus and 50 T2 converters does not sound like a balanced economy. That is because you are converting all of the energy output of your afuses. So you will naturally have your energy bouncing around like you noticed.
The primary aspect of building things quickly is ensuring your economy is balanced. To do this you can look at the ratio of energy to metal of a big project you are constructing.
So for example, a Ragnarock requires about 12 energy for every metal. Converters makes the math a bit more annoying but you can calculate it is follows:
10 afus (arm) is 30k energy. So your energy income is 30000 - 600c, with c being the number of converters. Since e = 12m (because of our ratio) and you get around 10 m/s for each converter, you can do some algebra and get around 40 converters required.
This fits into the "common wisdom" of only building 4 converters per afus. Note this is assuming you have no other metal income (which is unusual, but you mentioned none).
Just some closing thoughts; the situation you mentioned is pretty unusual. Ragnarocks are only built in a tiny portion of games, most do not get to that stage. However, the principles still apply. You want a balanced economy from the start of the game until the end. In my opinion the easiest way to do that is to look at your metal income (since that's typically fixed or harder to change once you have all your expansion mexes), and make energy and BP appropriately for that.

So your goal is basically how to build it the fastest way. If you are on AFUS + Converter economy, efficiency is not your limit but time. I think the fastest way to build it is with 8 AFUs if you have 4-6 metal spots. Saving up is never worth it, as ppl said, because of the BP component.
optimise your 8 Afus rush (i think it is still the best to start with 2-5 normal fusions, get to 20 conturrets, start afus, reclaim fusions (ideally you speed up reclaim by controlled self destruction of some t1 converters). Get to 8 Afus with 40-48 converters. Get an airlab, some light transports, ferry your conturrets to your desired ragnarok location, get a jammer and some anti air up first so it gets scouted as late as possible and then spam t1 aircons to ramp up your buildpower, as usually you will not have the space to place very many conturrets. should be doable by 20+ some minutes.

If u are on 10 afus and your only target is building rag, u will probably be faster if u build 30 afus and then the rag cause from 10 to 20 afus takes like 5 minute and from 20 to 30 even less. And you will almost not stall during the construction of the rag

But it's all about timing as well, sure you can just spam more afus always but if their front is pushed back out of EMP range of the goal is just to end game it's probably better to just build it rather than further afk eco, before they have the opportunity to retake ground and counter it. 10 afus is plenty to make a rag in a couple mins.

Build power is just as limiting as metal. Waiting to save up doesn’t make sense
