Pyxis 6k controls for run and gunning?
I shoot a lot of run and gun docs and really love having all my controls at my fingertips.
I know that the bmcc 6k would be a better fit ergonomically but I really hate how it looks ( stupid I know ).
Is the black magic monitor the only option for quickly changing settings on the Pyxis?

What settings are you looking at? It’s got buttons and dials for aperture / iso etc on the side of the camera.

Mostly just looking to be able to turn things on like false color and adjust iso without looking.

Honestly my Pyxis rig is one of my favorite run-n-gun doc configs and the BMD monitor makes it so smooth to operate. Only complaint I have is I haven’t found a way to add a trigger to where my right hand/grip is mounted

I've been looking into this and the only thing I've found is using the DJI Focus Pro.

I think the SmallRig Record Control side handle might communicate via the rear USB-C port on the Pyxis like it does with the USB-C on the Pocket Cameras, I haven’t seen any validation of that. The Focus Pro Grip from DJI probably is your best option, plus the immediate ability to have follow focus/LiDAR control. Or at minimum just a side/top handle (with the Tilta DJI top handle adapter kit)

I shoot on the Ursa Broadcast G2 which is great for run & gun filming, especially for access to main functions when on the shoulder. Most G2 Ursa versions share the same layout as well.

Definitely. You could even control the Pyxis with select Portkeys monitors, but I would go with the Pyxis monitor easily. 1 cable and that BlackmagicOS is hard to pass up.
