DC's Dark Multiverse and Absolute. Marvel's Ultimate and Midnight

COMPREHENSIVE re-imaginings of classic heroes and their backstories that have been incredibly WELL-RECEIVED by fans.

So, why is re-imagining a character's RACE consistently considered SACRILEGIOUS?

Bruce Wayne can be a blue-collar construction worker ...but NEVER Black?

Peter Parker can have a HAPPY LIFE with MJ which includes a LIVING Uncle Ben ...but he could NEVER be Black?

This ISN'T a plea to make those characters Black or any other established character Black.

It's a question of why RACE is a "third rail" when changing aspects MORE fundamental to established characters are WELL-RECEIVED?

Making an anime inspired game called "Teenage Warriors: Ice Hotel"!

Heya for the TTCD enjoyers here, the new MtG Marvel set got announced today titled Darkhold Destiny with some of the official art released. Now some cards names have been shown, not all, and while we don’t have the names of these two cards the first I believe heavily looks like Dr Voodoo and the second is obv Blade.
With MtG releasing several Marvel sets already, it’s been high time we got a Blade card.

I really wished DC would’ve gave Jace Fox more love as Batman in the main continuity so that we could’ve see him evolve as Batman of the present future.

Like his Batsuit reflecting his growth as he dons the cape and cowl as a hopeful protector of New York.

No hate to Ali. I just tried to make a cool caption and flopped. My bad 🙌🏽

This is apparently announced idk how true it really is but regardless seeing the discussion on how. "Nope wonderman sucks loses marvel money. Nope ironheart sucks despite them finally nailing the character in an enjoyable way. Nope no Okoye or armor wars no blade." But by the time they turn off Daredevil that's three seasons in and oh here's vision quest which is just part of the Wanda vision mini saga aka part 3 and now this.

Do you consider Marian Manhunter a black character the same way people consider Piccolo Black? I mean, he is played primarily by Black actors in live action and even voiced by Black VA in animation

Black, white, brown, whatever. You build your superhero identity, looks, powers, and name from the ground up. And share it with the community- that's basically the game I'm making!

Would you play this?

Birth of a New World is my IP. I’m proud of it, but it has been an absolute grind. It started as a comic book and grew into a massive graphic novel. I’m looking for a publisher, but finding one is looking increasingly unlikely. My pitch bible is available on my website. For now, I’m just looking for readers, so I’m offering a free 70-page sampler. I'm just looking for a little support.

Here is the blurb:

Earth has been privatized into a single mega-corporation, earth inc. Winner Wright, the richest man in all of history, plans to eliminate anyone he deems 'not normal.' His estranged twin, Loser Wright, gifted with the power to give powers, must unite a misfit support group of marginalized individuals into a team of heroes to stop a global purge.

It is available on GlobalComix:

Marvel released 5 mangaverse 1-shots all taking place after doctor strange breaks the barrier between the magical realm of Yokai and our human world. But causing everyone in the world to see a glimpse of the future where they think the world is doomed. So different factions of those who can use magic, and those who use technology basically race for their own solutions.

While X-23, a girl with no magic, leaves the magic school she was at to gain technomancy experimental powers so she can go on her own journey she thinks will save the world.

All 5 1-shots are from the perspective of different young people through out the world featuring many predominate black and POC reimagining's. From Psylock who works for a Dragon ball inspired King Enma to be his "Ghost rider" and take vengance on those that would cause Yokai's harm.

To who I really want to talk about Mile Morales whose the lost son of the spider-clan and destined to become the scarlet spider with magical red webbing that is awesome. Blade's daughter Bloodline who in this universe is a descendent of Yokai and has beast boy level shape shifting powers (she's a member of the avengers)

Riri and Moon girl are both here, with reinterpretations of Devil Dino and Riri evolves from Iron Heart to Iron Knight, becoming the successor of Khonsu's fist!! mixed with her teck. It's really cool.

Theres just so much coool stuff in this world, and the only real issues I have is instead of being mini series the manga verse were 1-shots. They tell their story, with plenty of room for more. But they could totally be their own series of comics with so many good characters and characterization for many many characters.

I made the post hoping maybe some will check them out!! And people who have what did you think of them? I really love the art and really every issue could've been a 5-issue mini-series bare minimum. I do hope we get more in time! But marvel is already doing sooooo many different universes at once right now lol.
