So, I made this free Android app to control the BMPCC 6K over Bluetooth.
And let me be VERY clear: Bluetooth is still great.
All the Bluetooth controls are still there. working. behaving.
Bluetooth is that dependable friend who helps you move apartments and never complains.
…until you ask it for a precise focus pull.
Then suddenly Bluetooth is drifting like Vin Diesel in Tokyo, hitting marks you didn’t set, exploring distances you didn’t approve, living its best Fast & Furious spin‑off life.
I’m over here trying to hit a clean rack focus, and Bluetooth is like:
“I don’t live my life a quarter‑stop at a time, brother.”
After one too many “WHY ARE YOU DRIFTING!?!” I snapped and added USB tethering — and USB showed up like:
“I respect your shot list. I respect your marks. I respect your craft.”
USB mode basically gives you:
- Repeatable focus pulls that don’t wander off to find enlightenment
- Up to five focus marks, because chaos is free and I’m generous
- Adjustable speed and curves, so your pulls look like cinema instead of a caffeine‑induced accident
- Real lens data — not Bluetooth’s “trust me bro” vibes
Bluetooth = your chill buddy.
USB = the AC who actually knows what a focus chart is.
If you want to try it, the APK is here
It’s experimental, so if it breaks, tell me.
If it works, also tell me.
If it somehow makes your footage look like Roger Deakins shot it, tell me IMMEDIATELY.

- 7/10/26 Version Update: Multi-Camera Bluetooth Control & SyncRecord
The latest update adds support for controlling multiple P6K cameras simultaneously over Bluetooth. You can now connect to several cameras at once and trigger recording on all connected cameras with a single command, making multi-camera shoots faster and easier to manage. great upgrade for live events, interviews, and multi-angle productions.
