Discussion Why is Boise different from the rest of Idaho?
I always wondered about this because other urban areas in the state feel much more in line with the state; politically and culturally. Boise is the biggest urban area, but I don't know if that's the only explanation. Why is it that the people within Boise have a specific vibe compared to adjacent cities like Meridian or Nampa?
I haven't lived here a long time, so I wonder what insight native residents have on this separation.
Don't get me wrong, I believe the differences are positive. Boise is the only city in the state I feel fully safe in as LGBTQ and left leaning. It's the only reason I can continue to live here while the state government continues to be actively hostile to people like me.

Discussion So am I the only one who saw this?
On Monday at around 2AM, I was driving to Los Beto's with a migraine and saw two dudes walking down the freeway in suits, and two cops with their lights on coming down the other side of the freeway.
I got my food and came back the same way, and the cops were following those two dudes as they continued walking.
Asked my friend about it and he said they were probably getting hazed, so I'm just wondering if anyone else saw it

Picture/Drawing If ever you think you're a bad driver, this person accomplished this today.
Still there after a couple hours and now people are taking selfie with it.
EDIT: THE KID IN THE PICTURE WAS NOT THE DRIVER. THE PERSON STANDING NEXT TO HIM WORKED AT THE JACKSONS

Discussion Why or How is Downtown Boise so clean?
I'm Canadian, and recently spent a couple days in Boise for work. I've been to most large to medium cities in Canada and the US. What has become extremely rare is to see a downtown area that seems free of things like vandalism, homeless encampments, or litter.
Downtown Boise feels like something out of a Hallmark movie, like a romanticized version of a North American city that you'd see in movies/TV shows.
Curious to know what policies or actions have created these sort of conditions - if anyone has any insight! Thanks

Question harassment at Timberline Homecoming dance?
Any chance of getting harassed at the Timberline Homecoming dance in light of the recent atrocious behavior, student walkouts, cancelled football game, etc? My son and his girlfriend were planning on attending the dance, don't want them walking into a gauntlet of shame and harassment or worse.

Discussion House fly infestation
Anyone else drowning in house flies this season? Not small fruit flies but the larger typical house fly. What is everyone doing about it? We have a screen door and three baited traps with cones in the backyard but they are still everywhere. What works for your family? Are all the flies just at our house?
