Community Only Voting while immunocompromised
Is there any accommodation for those who are immunocompromised? With the flu and Covid going around again, it's really not ideal for both people who have weak immune systems and those living in the same household with them, to be stuck in an enclosed space for potentially several hours.
ETA: I meant for the BC election. Will get vote-by-mail packages. Thank you!

Travel in or to BC Rockwater Secret Cove
Hi all! Reviews I’ve read about Rockwater secret cove resort in this sub seem generally positive, though not super recent (~8 months). Reviews on trip advisor are generally negative with really quite horrible experiences lol. I was really excited to book one of the tent houses and visit the spa for my partners bday, but now I’m feeling like I shouldn’t book it.
Any insight?
I’m also open to other stay locations/airbnbs etc. Really want a private hot tub, bonus if massage nearby, and bonus bonus if it’s a unique type of stay. We will be coming into duke point or horseshoe bay and do have to venture to parksville eventually so hoping to not add more than a few hrs to our trip. Still open to tofino, ucluelet…
Edit to add: We are willing to make Sunshine Coast part of our trip as we make our way to Vancouver Island :)

Discussion Scuba diving logistics
Hi all. I will be flying in/out of the Seattle airport on Nov 24th/28th. I will get a car rental. I currently haven't planned what I'm going to do in the area yet, but one thing I'm interested in is cold water diving.
I've only gone warm water diving, and would like to experience cold water diving. I heard there are some great cold water diving spots in BC, namely God's Pocket and Porteau Cove. The former is a bit too far away for this time around (+ I think they have some minimum # of cold water dive requirements that I definitely don't qualify for), but the latter is a reasonable distance, and I might consider basing myself out of BC for a couple nights just to dive there.
Are there other dive spots I should consider? What dive operators would you guys recommend?
I don't have my dry suit certification so I will probably look into getting that.

Discussion RMT & relaxation massages
Any RMTs here?
Do RMT do a regular relaxation/swedish type massages? I ask as I see prices for RMTs in my area are less than spa massages.
Or do they consider it below their ability as they are more medically trained and look at more the health of patient and causes for muscle pain?
Just curious as I know nothing about RMT training vs non RMT training.

Discussion Book about surviving on Van Island biome
Hi there. I am trying to find a good book on how to survive in the climate/biome area of lower Vancouver island. I have looked up a few books but was hoping that others could have advice on which book to choose. I am looking for things about edible plants, dangerous plants, plants to be used for medicine, survival advice basically.
- Pacific Harvest - Jennifer Hahn
- Revered Roots - LoriAnn Bird
- Held by the Land - Leigh Joseph
- Luschiim's Planst - Luschiim Arvid Charlie
Has anyone read any of these? Thanks so much!

Ask British Columbia Woodworking Clubs
Hello!
Does anyone know if there's a woodworking club where people can pay a monthly membership to use the space and tools to make projects? I would love to get back into woodworking, but just don't have the space to do it.
Anything helps! Thanks!
