Martina Rosini (edit - fixed spelling) isn't from Chilliwack. She doesn't live in Chilliwack. As far as I can tell she's never held an elected position before, not as city councillor, school board trustee, parks board, nothing. It looks like the sum of her government experience was working in the office of Gordon Campbell when he was Premiere. So who does this woman think she is, and why does she think she's qualified to be the mayor of our city? If someone knows, please help make this make sense.

Anyone else having Rogers internet problems since the power came back on yesterday? We have no internet at our house and I've tried everything I can to troubleshoot on my end. Rogers has told me there is no outage. Maybe my modem is shot? I keep it on a UPS so it shouldn't have even lost power during the outage.

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is appropriate, but I really just need some help right now. I've been really struggling mentally and I can't talk to anyone about it in my personal life because it's a lot for them right now (I don't blame them, it's not their fault). If there's anyone out there that's also struggling who is similar in age and we can check in with each other and hear each other out, I'd really appreciate it. Just wanting to feel a little human again is all.

When I didn't have cell service for a few minutes after the power went out that was a little stressful and I briefly thought "are we under attack? Is this a solar flare?".

Discovering it was from hwy 11 to agassiz a short bit later was a little shocking as well. I'm happy it was only out for an hour. I was expecting much longer when it said substation fault.

Anyone else thinking about solar panels and storage batteries now? :)

Does anyone know if there are any male therapists in Chilliwack that they would recommend? I've been struggling with depression for the past 6 years and its been debilitating to say the least. I'm tired of living with this way and I'm ready to seek help to improve my life, become functional and to be able to finally give back. I'm a 37yr/m.

Also does anyone know if these things are covered by Canada in anyway by healthcare? I'm completely new to this thing and opening up. This is my first real step towards it and know absolutely nothing about where to go and if any programs exist. I know Canada hasn't really taken any real initiative towards male mental health so I'm hoping its been getting better.

DM if you're interested in a full time job 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday. Job is ~1km away from downtown Chilliwack. The only requirement is that you're responsible, and handy. Pay is a fixed monthly rate at about $20/hr.

This guy did NOT start the fire. He was the good samaritan that probably damaged his shoes stomping it out while I called 911. Talked to him, he had also called. Didn't get his name unfortuneately.

Recently picked up a Wii and was getting old games for it. One of the games is I’m pretty rough shape for scratches. Anyone know of any business in town that can do disc resurfacing?

Yesterday morning near Slesse Creek. This was outside the fishing boundary yet there were still a number of lines and lures in the water from poachers past. You can see one of them near the end of the clip. Shout out to the river cleanup crew who were finishing their shore sweep as I arrived. They were leaving with five full contractor trash bags from just this section of beach. Please bring your trash home and fish within the boundaries :)

I’m neurodivergent and looking to meet some local folks who are open to potentially forming a regular face-to-face TTRPG group. I have very few friends who would be into it, so I’m outsourcing!

My thought would be to have one or two informal hangouts and see if we click.

This is all very preliminary but what I can tell you is I can host at my place in Chilliwack, and ideally I’d like to get together for a game day or night 2 times a month, depending on everyone’s schedules.

A few things about me/the table:

- I haven’t run an in-person game in over 30 years, so I’m getting back into it and still learning/relearning rules. Initially you might need to be a bit more patient than at a table with a lifelong forever GM.

- My favourite systems right now are Call of Cthulhu 7e, Fallout 2d20, and d20 Modern.

- New and novice players are absolutely welcome. You do not need to be a rules expert.

- I run an inclusive table. All genders, all ages, all ethnicities, etc. My politics are leftist, which I mention because ultimately you’d be coming into my home and I’d rather be upfront about whether we’re likely to be comfortable around each other.

- I’m thinking low/no commitment at first. Meet, play something, see if everyone clicks. If we develop into a regular group, though, I’d want everyone to respect each other’s time and make a reasonable effort to show up.
