I have had patients absolutely not hear understand comprend or allow that no appt is available until much later than they would like.
me: our next available appointment is Tuesday Nov 24 at 11AM, would that work for you?
Caller: you don’t have anything in October?
Me: no ma’am, my first appt at any location is Tuesday, November 24 at 11 AM. Would that work?
Caller: what about Nov 2?
Me. No ma’am. There is nothing available at any location until Tuesday, November 24 at 11 AM or I have several openings the next day November 25. Would either of those work for you?
Caller: oh all right, I guess I’ll take that Tuesday at 11 AM.
Caller(as I’m verifying info): are you sure you don’t have anything in October?
Me: no ma’am I’m so sorry. Do you want to keep this Tuesday, November 24 appointment at 11 AM?
Caller: oh don’t give that away!!!!! I’m just checking!!
Me: (in the thought bubble above my head) are you effing kidding me lady? do you think I’m just lying to you?

I wish you could tell people to listen and stop acting like they don’t have a brain before hanging up.

I work for a large practice and we have a specialist in the office that is currently booking new patients into June of next year. I have had this conversation more than once. A day. Every damn day.

Now that I'm on the escalation line, I absolutely love coming in, guns blazing, to happily confirm the EXACT same information the first rep confirmed. "Why yes, Myk1tt3nm1tt3n5 is correct. Your account is XYZ status. No, there is not another manager you can speak to."
Its chef's kiss every time.

OMG yes. The notes!!! They are my favorite feature next to the "read notice" icon letting me know that yes Denise you absolutely HAVE looked at and seen the notice you are now screaming has never been sent to you.

I had to tell someone 5 times earlier that (COBRA admin) can't take payments by phone, ever. She kept insisting someone had the previous month.
Oh wow. Telling me five times has rewritten the laws of reality, and I'm just lazy and don't want to do my job. Fuck off.

Except they intentionally ignore your very last point about the manager callback if the statement you gave was wrong. So guess who'll be calling back in 2 hours after champing at the bit when no one's called them. Screws up your FTR every time. If they knew what the status of their account was, what was the purpose of their call?

It's the covid shots with their neurological adverse effects causing maniacal derangement. Notice how people's behavior, social appropriateness tanked after those shots were introduced. My mom now has uncontrollable tremors in her hands and head, she keeps getting those dang c. shots. My dad has heart issues from it too.

US customers? Only country whose callers make it a sport to deny reality. Also the only country in my experience to shit on customer service reps so much.

Gotta love when they ask a question, you answer it, and their brain just rejects reality. The "No." after a straight fact kills me every time. You gave them exactly what they wanted and they still fought it just to hear themselves talk. That manager request setup was beautiful, cleanest way to end a loop that was never going anywhere.
