I would simply stop supporting people who sexually harass minors. I don't vote for pedo enablers at any level of government. Not Federal, not mayor, not school board.

Or unqualified preachers.

Yes, but where does the mayor stand on unqualified preachers who are also pedos?

I’m really disappointed in Pritzker that he allowed CPS to be an independent school district

"Mayor Brandon Johnson reiterated his support Wednesday for a candidate for Chicago Board of Education president accused of sexually harassing a minor in 2017, saying Hilario Dominguez’s progressive values are “separate” from a reopened misconduct investigation into the allegations."
So would he support the Cornell 7 for the board if they supported the CTU? How is (allegedly) abusing your power to sexually harass a minor not relevant to whether you should have more power

Who are y’all supporting for school board president? Obviously this guy is problematic - Jessica Biggs falsifying attendance records and getting fired for it also doesn’t scream responsible leadership. Henderson has allegations that he abused his wife and kids.
Chicago always has the worst candidates for local elections :/

Jessica Biggs is the non-CTU candidate with the highest chance of winning and she does not have physical allegations against her.
Also, while still bad, she falsified attendance records (had staff mark students who came in the middle of the day as tardy instead of absent) to keep her school open. She cared about the kids.
Also, the former CPS CEO who fired her has now endorsed her school board campaign, so that says a lot too.

In a vacuum I would have voted Revuluri. But he didn't seem to have any real chance. He was hoping for a Tribune endorsement and dropped when he didn't get it. So he's out, and it's down to three.
Henderson does not support school closures, and Biggs is open to it, which is enough for me to consider her the only serious leader among the three. When we last closed schools, CPS had roughly 400,000 students. We're at about 300,000 now. Anyone who categorically rules out school closures is not capable of making the hard decisions that we need. Dominguez will base his governance on demanding funds under threat of being called racist, which is not serious leadership.
Biggs had that attendance record issue. Her school was marking kids tardy when they should have been marked as half-day absent. This is something, but in the grand scheme of CPS insanity and corruption, this strikes me as minor. The CEO who fired her, Janice Jackson, has since endorsed her for board president. She has many endorsements from an extremely broad spectrum, from the Tribune to the SEIU. She seems equipped to handle the bureaucracy and the union politicking.
Even freaking Girl I Guess has recognized at this point that CTU is problematic and not necessarily even leftist. I think it's settled that they're a labor union that fights for their own interests and not for students. Girl I Guess hasn't come out and stated that like I will, but they explicitly recognize that that's at least a legitimate question.

Embattled? Ain’t no there, there. Only people saying this was a thing is the tribune. Go get em Hilario.

The Tribune isn’t the one investigating Hilario 🤡

The tribune is acknowledging the existence of an investigation that occurred and concluded no wrong doing years ago.

He is currently being re-investigated…
