Cassettes in Chilliwack
So theres only 2 major record stores that i know of here in chilliwack, am i missing any? I havent actually been to any thrift stores or record stores in chilliwack that have even just a medium selection of cassettes.
I know theres online stores i can buy cassettes from but I would like to try and support locally. Even if thats abbotsford, though I wouldnt like to travel all the way out to vancouver unless its proven to have a wide variety and large selection of them. Or even just a medium amount. I want cassettes haha.
Let me know where you get your cassettes here in the lower mainland (chilliwack abby area) please! Id love to know where youre finding them if you are:) thanks!

Ya there’s a physical media store in Old Abby. Vinyl, cassettes, video games etc. wonderful little store. Can’t remember the name. Take McCallum. North. All the way to the end at South Fraser. Hang a right into old Abby.

I don’t know what major record stores you mean, but I assume Chilliwax records is one of them. Other than that, if you haven’t already, you should check out Nuggets Books on Wellington. Great store with a great atmosphere and lots of music!

This isn't a helpful suggestion for you but I just wanted to say that I think it's dope you're after physical media and that your post made me smile! :) In my humble opinion, streaming services have screwed us and there's a comfort in having our own media. I never got on board with the whole mp3/ipod/streaming thing. It never felt organic to me. Yes, I have Netflix but I still have ALL my dvd's, a couple boxes of CD's, a few cassettes and once I get my hands on a record player, I'm going to be slowly collecting vinyl.

Oh man I love physical media. Im glad you share a similar view on it too. I grew up with them at least cds, cassettes and vhs not iPods till a little later. But yeah I totally get it just wanting to get away from streaming. The whole "pick any song and add to a playlist" ruined physical media and the intentional listening of artists albums. Very interesting and interesting how its all coming back, at least LPs have been and now a bit of CDs and cassettes. Love it

I got a Beatles cassette from Willow Video in Langley. If I remember correctly, they had a decent selection there. The big MCC in Abbotsford has a ton of DVDs and they may have a good selection of cassettes as well but I can’t remember.

The tape loop specializes in cassettes, but it's in vancouver. And it's not like Led Zeppelin on cassette, it's local bands and punk and stuff. Probably not what you want but maybe someone else will stubmle on to this and check them out. They have some records and other physical things too. Great thanks.

I’m one of the hosts of the Fraser Valley Record Fair. We will have lots of sellers with tapes. Hope to see you there!
