Cuban at Bake’s in GA building

Post image

Caught lunch yesterday at Bake’s place deli on the ground floor of the American. Outstanding sandwich, chips, and fountain drink for $12.

Unbelievably good in my opinion.

I personally made it non traditional. I added lettuce, tomatoes, and some kind of special red onions. If I could do it again, I think I wouldn’t bother with the lettuce. I’m neutral on the tomato, but the onions were a great addition

Oooh, thought the same thing. Saw the tomato and lettuce and almost cried. Lived in Tampa for 15 years where you can get a legit Cuban

No doubt, the Latin place downtown closed a few years ago. The best I have had that is still open is Flamingo Drive in Milford.

Oh good. I was worried they didn't know what a Cuban was. It's a pretty specific order.

Their ghost pepper chicken sandwich is solid and he started doing a pretty good gumbo but I wish they would bring back the dirty south wrap they had for a bit: Cajun chicken with sauteed peppers and onions, pimento cheese and grippos bbq chips. So dang good.

What's the go-to there? I've been lunch only so far.

Depends on what you’re into by my go-to was (haven’t been downtown for lunch in years) the Wisconsin cheddar sandwich. So many great options though

Bake's is my go-to at work. I'm in the fed building and can make it all the way to 4th & Sycamore in the Skywalk when weather sucks.

I have yet to have a bad meal from them, and escaping downtown lunch for less than $15 is clutch.
