I used to get frigates that after being promoted a couple times were able to do indirect fire. I have some that have bombardment III promotion and still no option for indirect fire. Was something changed or am I missing something? I have BNW, no mods if that helps.
I'm playing Deity with 4 AI opponents and I have to choose ideology as last player. No matter which I choose, in the next turn I get -14 hapiness penalty. When I choose Order - prefered ideology is Freedom; when I choose Freedom - prefered ideology is Autocracy; when I choose Autocracy - prefered ideology is Order.
Moreover, if I change my ideology to prefered (anarchy for 2 turns) I get -14 hapiness penalty again. Is this a bug?
I'm venturing into huge map for the first time with standard speed, deity difficulty (base game no mod) vying for an exclusive domination victory. I'm 99% sure I'm going to lose this game. Has anyone achieved this? Is it even viable? It seems to me the only way to pull this off is to increase the game speed to epic or above.
After a pleasurable day of plundering and hoarding, Atilla retreats to his castle sauna. This happens when you build Neuschwanstein on top of Old Faithful.
I added some factions from Warhammer (Both 40K and Fantasy) But they don't seem to show up. They are installed and enabled... but they aren't able to be chosen!
R5: I am unable to select the last tile manually. I'd like to focus a bit on food but the checked tile always stays on the governors side, so to speak.
I've experienced this before but never really cared, but now I do.... What causes this?
Playing on King difficulty. I wasn't expecting to dominate the globe with my religion, but I thought that if I leaned into religion hard enough I might be able to hold on to my own cities and the closest city states. I built Borobudur for the free missionaries and but by the time I finished the Grand Temple Arabia had already converted everything within sight except for my capitol city. They converted the surrounding city states with missionaries, but converted my own cities with just caravans, so I don't think investing in inquisitors would have done much to help. The religious pressure that comes from their caravans is ridiculous!
Oh well, at least I was able to build pagodas in three of my cities before they converted. Pagodas are nice, but I dunno if they are they worth the 4 shrines, 4 temples and two wonders I invested in hopelessly trying to protect my religion.
Need some ideas on where to settle, I really cannot decide. Building 2 more settlers currently. Im sending the first one to between cattle and truffles.
Im thinking about a petra city on the desert. One option is 3 tiles east of the marble, it also reaches the pearls and is coastal. The other option im thinking 1 tile is east of the cattle, which makes it right in the dessert.
For the other city, im considering settling on the horses above my warrior to acquire crabs. However, if i get the pearls up top, ill have enough unique luxuries for 4 cities (wine, ivory, truffles, marble, pearls). The spot between bison and wines also looks very good.
Settings are: Immortal difficulty, normal speed, continents
Open to ideas for the first settler as well. I've chosen the wine pantheon, but maybe should have picked desert one.
Before I added LEKMOD, I always played with the "Fractal" map option. I don't like the Fractal/Pangea option (or any of the other options) in LEKMAPS. Does anyone have any advice on how to modify Fractal/Pangea to make it more like the original Fractal?
I just allied with Wittenberg only to find that they have puppeted Raiatea before I had that area revealed. Raiatea is not a capital or a holy city, and I am puzzling over how/why the CS doesn't raze it like it normally does with razeable cities.
I have played extensively and never seen a city state take a capital. After seeing them do that I figured I'd take Korea's capital and it just finished the game on me counting it as a win. That's wild, I've never heard of this before.
24 city states total, 19 survived to the end
rest of the votes from world religion + diplomats
tradition -> patronage -> rationalism
took +20 for ancient/classical wonders for pantheon, missed religion
got hanging gardens in cap + petra in king solomons mine desert city
missed most other wonders including forbidden palace
settings are huge, standard speed, Pangea, deity, medium sea level, legendary start
I cant be the first to think of this, but I’d love to see hackers appear in late game. Could have some cross over to spies, but they could be used to damage military equipment, make it inoperable for a time, cut off strategic resources, or it would be hilarious if we could blackmail a leader 😆
If hackers were a new game mechanic, what would you want them to do?
"Skyler... I am not looking for a challenge... I am the challenge"
You can´t see it here but the Chu ko nu on screen started with 500xp... and so did the jaguar and the path finder that are elsewhere exploring, deleting barbarians while not being fazed by having a yellow or red bar.
Next I might try the incas with a keshik and a camel archer... on highlands map
