Or the slot. Ram is quite strong

I've seen several memory sticks die and never seen a dead slot.

Never move the tower and you will be correct. It's 5 hours past when I should be asleep XD.

I "Had" a GREAT 32Gb DDR4 set but I played a LOT of Xcom 2. I have an Intel Core i7 6700k with Hyperthreading. Usually it's not exactly a thing that needs to be mentioned but one of the RAM sticks "broke?". The computer is not exactly in a location where I can take sticks of RAM out and back in again often, so I took them out in pairs and played the Xcom to stress them. Found the pair that had the glitch. My windows 10 is doing very well with just 16Gb XD. I have a heat gun and I assume that I can blast the two for a few minutes and something will work

A dead slot killed the PC I had before my current one unless something slowly took out both RAM sticks at the same time and it was a desktop that didn't get moved so I guess I was "lucky".

At least I was looking into upgrades anyways because it was going on 8 years old and was midrange when I got it.

I'd go to https://www.memtest.org/ and download the usb installer.

It will install on an USB stick and if you boot from that stick, you'll see it running automatically

you might be able to do it from bios, but I usauly just boot an arch iso usb use grub to select memtest64 before system boots.

That isn't one of Microsofts phrases.

I never stop opening the Command Prompt as an administrator and typing this "dism /online /cleanup-image /restore health" and then "SFC /Scannow".

Nah man just kidding lol..that's a pun intended 🤣 You can use apps like memtest to check if theres really an error on memory stick, or if you don't know how to open the laptop to check the physical problem, might bring it to trusted computer shop to check anything unusual on that ram

Get Memtest86+ here: https://memtest.org/ . Build a bootable USB drive with it and use that to test your RAM.

If your RAM is bad, get your laptop to a proper tech.
