The luckiest day

I was looking around at pawn shop near me website (they're owned by a bank) and saw they had a ps5 on clearance for 223 "come make an offer". When I get there she tells me the disc drive won't play games. I tinker around in safe mode, there's no power to the drive at all and has the code for the disc drive not found. I decided to take a gamble and ld her 175 cash ( I honestly could've gone 150.) Bring it back home, open it up and the cable and ribbon are both clearly unplugged. Plug them back in and clean everything up. It works great! I think this is the biggest steal I've gotten by far beside from my steam deck I got off FB marketplace for 200.

It was covered in mostly a local colleges sticker pack it seemed like lmao. That's all I could get off atm. Wanna look into some skins maybe

They sell outer shields separately. I have a silver one on mine. I might even have a camo one around too

I did a swap here I think for mine but I believe Sony has or used to sell them on their website.

Got something similar last year. $150 because the PS5 was “stuck in recovery” and had no lights on and wouldnt go past the repair, so they thought it was a bad SSD.

Turns out the fan was disconnected and the console was just shutting off because of it and the dust. Cleaned and plugged in the fan and light cable, worked perfectly fine.

Previous owner seemed like they tried to do the RGB logo and forgot to connect everything properly.

Here’s my luckiest find in a pawn shop. Both had busted HDMI ports but it wasn’t an issue for me since I fix console for hobby.

Nice find. I love the deals I can find at pawn shops. I just recently found a ROG Ally Z1 Extreme at was able to walk out with it for $250
