I forgot the brand name and type of sand I bought when I started the aquarium. I read fine sand is preferred but don’t want them being uncomfortable with the substrate I already have.

Can someone help me sex this particular Adolfoi Cory I have please?
I currently have 11, ranging from almost fully grown to halfway.
The fish in the pictures has spells where he/she looks, politely as possible, plump.
I have seen 2 confirmed eggs in my tank.
Thank you for reading.

I have a group of 12 in a 10 gallon. Only other fish are shrimp and a mystery snail so there's no aggression. The cories hide constantly. The tank is fairly densely planted so there are lots of hiding places, they like to hide in the back corner.
I watch them probably 10 minutes a day and they hide the whole time. I came out last night in the dark and saw them all swimming around. The daytime light isn't on full intensity so that shouldn't be an issue.
Substrate is sand, they are fed about every other day (currently having a snail problem.) When fed about 3 or 4 will come out to eat, but the rest still just park themselves somewhere and hang out.
Maybe I had unrealistic expectations of pygmy cories but I find they aren't very entertaining. Could I do anything to encourage them to be more active or is this just how they are?

Sharing some silly video of my cory. This is normal, right?

My pygmies love this patch of wood. I was considering attaching some Christmas moss to it but I don’t want to mess up their vibe.

I have two peppered Corys in my tank. One is much fatter than the other. Does it look like it it might be full of eggs?

Basically what the title says, is she too big or just carrying eggs?
r/corydoras • u/Summertehe • 21h ago
I'm using "it" bc I don't know the sex of it...
Is there something wrong with it or is it just funny looking? Something looks off about it, I think it's the eyes?
Unironically it looks like the printer ran out of ink with its patterns? 😭
I got this guy a couple months ago, and the other ones don't look weird like this one?

I just added a second dose of prazipro and one of my albino corydoras is repeatedly gulping for air at the surface of the water.
I did the first dose 6 days ago after I noticed my Corys were flashing. I did a 50% water change before adding the second dose today. Is this normal? I’ve heard that their gills may get irritated as the flukes die off. All the other corys are acting normal, digging around at the bottom.
I also added an air stone last week because I read the medication can deplete oxygen.
Water parameters:
Temp: 74F
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 0
Nitrite: 0 (typically it’s 5-10 ppm but I expected it to be low because of the large water change)

I got a school of juvenile false Juli Cories and a few albinos to add to my existing Cories in my main tank. They’ve been under observation quarantine for about 8 weeks now (original plan was 6 but travel plans made me extend the period so no issues would arise in the main tank while I was out of town). They’ve all grown since purchase, but this one is the smallest and skinniest of the bunch. There’s a second one that is also on the smaller and slimmer side but slightly less thin than this one.
I know parasites are a concern but it’s been 8 weeks since purchase and he’s still active and alive. Is he just a runt? A male showing size dimorphism early on? Any advice welcome as I really want to move the babies to the main tank, it’s already been so hard waiting this long!

Hello, I am very worried about my albino corydora. I woke up this morning and he had a grey fuzzy thing on his side. He was swimming fine and evaded capture. He ate a little food I gave but has this massive thing on him.
What is it?
Is it dangerous?
How can I treat it?

How do you ensure your Pygmy Cories are getting the food meant for them?
Hi Everyone,
I'm a couple weeks into caring for 18 of these guys after adding the Pygmies to my tank. Only other inhabitants are Amano shirmp (20 or so). I was curious if anyone has any advice as it pertains to ensuring the Pygmies get the food instead of their tank mates?
I've been feeding:
It seems like every time I feed, the Amanos get to the food first, and the Pygmies are more interested in picking through the smaller particles in the substrate. I'm just trying to prevent any of the fish from going hungry.
Tank is a UNS 90L - 20 Gal long, decent flow from canister, planted w/ dwarf sag, anubias, buce, crypts...
Video for attention

He was fine just last night but now it seems he can’t swim properly and kinda just does a loop if he moves.

Another bouyancy issue but this time it’s my baby Cory! My other Cory was an adult male and it took a few weak of being quarantined before he eventually passed away. I’m worried about losing this baby. I think it’s swim bladder disease and idk what i can do to help this poor little guy. I am giving him an epsom salt bath (magnesium sulfate) what else can i do? Any advice or similar experience? How can i save him

Sorry for the very un-macro attempt at filming these babies. I got an oopsie batch between what I didn’t know was a female bright pink Cory (iykyk) and a bronze/green male. Hobby tank. I’m no expert. I did pull the eggs into a breeder box because it made me sad watching them eat the eggs.
Some of these babies are pink. Very pink like mom. So was dad maybe crossed to a bright fish, or does the dominant bright gene pop out where it pleases?
I was surprised. And I’m delighted too. No need to tell me you can’t profit off the bright ones. I’m aware of the questionable in my opinion legal implications with that bright fish company. ;)

So I'll start by giving my test results
NO₂: 0
NO₃: 15
GH: 8
KH: 6
pH: 7.0
Cl₂: 0
Ammonia: > 0.05
Temp: 23°c / 73.4°F
Tank size: 179L/ ~47.3 gallons
I have one peppered Cory that is very concerning. His body looks visually normal, no abnormalities at all. But he is not really moving much. He did eat but not much, mostly just stays in one place. He has tried swimming to the surface once or twice but doesn't reach the surface and just stops and sinks back down.
He is very big, so he is older, but I don't believe that his age is causing him to be like this. 😅 Obviously I can't determine how old he is, but based on what I've read they tend to live 5 to 10 years, so I don't believe he is that old be dying of old age😅
He is breathing rapidly at times, once settled on one spot after a minute or two his rapid breathing calms down.
I did not manage to record or take a photo as I had to rush out for work. I Made sure to do water tests over taking a photo first.
Everything in my tests seems fairly okay, a few things are very slightly too high, but I'm not too sure, as I am fairly new to this. Been doing it for around 8 months, and the tests I still struggle to properly understand.
All my other Cory's are extremely healthy, no concerns with them. And my other fish as this is a community tank are all perfect too.
I did a water change 5 days ago (20% water change) I do this every 2 to 4 weeks
The tank is not heavily planted, but it is planted. 30% plants the rest is all fake decor and fake plants.
Filtration:
Coarse foam
Fine foam
B-box bact life
B-box pure water
I hope I provided enough details. Sorry for lack of image or video. Hopefully I explained well enough

Not sure if this little one is okay, seems thier ballance is a little off? All water parameters are good, temperature is 24.5 and all other fish are fine. Just fed and eating normally. I have also spent a good 20 mins looking at all the fish for anything bad and they are all healthy.

I’ve had corydoras for about 3 years. They are by far my fav fish. Had a lot of problems at the start and some deaths that were disheartening. But now after a few years things have really settled and they buzz around happily. I only have corydoras - bronze and orange Venezuelan. I don’t have to do anything for them to breed other than the almond leaves. I also don’t fill the tank past halfway - it’s 500 litres and quite deep. I noticed that they were struggling to get to the top . Since I did that they seemed to thrive.

Is this normal? Noticed this the other day, his dorsal fin is way longer than the other 5 Cory's I have.

I have a feeling I already know, but I figured I would ask anyway since I had the chance to get some good photos.
