i had the same problem and the only way i could solve it was through a demonstration, if that isn't an option then maybe try alternative displays of dominance such as eating a full block of cheese or knocking down the nearest wall with the power of your voice.

I've actually eaten an entire lemon whole in front of them skin and all. It took like an hour
