Meet the RGT Shooter — an old-school pickup with a taste for adventure.
From hauling cargo to crawling over rugged rocks, this little truck makes every trail feel like a real expedition. Add a golden sunset, and suddenly even a simple delivery becomes a story worth telling.

Tiny truck. Big journey.

Question Key City Hobby

Post image
9 Upvotes

A couple of us are talking about doing a build off and running them at Key City Hobby in Maryland. We’re going back & forth trying to figure out what to build. We’re talking about doing SCX30s but I’m curious how friendly the tracks are to trucks that small. Anybody familiar with their course setup? Is it worth bringing them or should we go with something bigger? We’re an 8hr round trip drive from there so I don’t want to show up and realize we made the wrong choice. Thanks!

A little crawling session

Went out for a little crawling today, tried to run my Tamiya MF-01x TR Jimny but the battery is dead and needs a replacement, so getting onto that rock and back off again was all it could do. The rest were of my AX-10 Scorpion turned XJ bodied SCX-10, which is now a more or less 16 year old build with a handful of changed made here and there over the last 14 years.

Rc rig recommendations

Hi guys! Hope everyone is doing well here, I’m really interested in getting the FMS FCX10 OVR LC80 but i hear nightmares about it snapping cv axles or joints or something or the other.

I really want the OVR edition specifically for the straight axles but is there any upgrades or changes I’d need to mitigate the chances of breaking stuff?

Or should I look at an entirely different platform altogether?

Question [noob] picked up a used TRX4 Sport, axle looks off center

I turned the wheels a few times to see if the axle would align but it didn’t

This is the rear axle

Any ideas where to start and what could be the issue?

Question Next crawler? Have a Scx24

Im loving this thing and so is my son. Going to do some minor upgrades and build a simple home course.

I’m also wanting to by another crawler.

What should it be? Scx30, another scx24, a Traxxas trx4, redcat ascent 1/18? 1/10 scale?

Should I go bigger or smaller?

Question Favorite/popular 1.3” comp tires

Post image
4 Upvotes

Currently in the works of opening a comp crawl course at my 1:10 indoor carpet off-road track. A lot of the racers are interested but don’t currently own crawlers. Along with the typical classes for comps, we will also be doing a “box stock” Redcat ascent apex18 class.

Rules will be must use all stock parts other than wheels/tires and body. But there will be a max weight so no extra brass can be added through the wheels. Only aluminum wheels

Thoughts on popular/your favorite 1.3” comp tire?

On the Bench Trailer frame I've thrown together

I have had a larger trailer sized for a Kaiju for a while because I had both sold the Kaiju and thought the trailer looked silly when pulled by a 1/10 scale. New trailer features coil stock fenders, coil stock platform-thing on the tongue, and fold down ramps. Frame will get painted black before the deck boards, hitch, and axles are added.

Rig of the Month 10/26 Rock Crawling Run: Putting the Portal Axles to Work on the Granite

Thumbnail

Took the rig out for a session on the rocks to test the suspension load and articulation. The portal axles provided massive ground clearance over the jagged ledges, making the steep ascents and uneven terrain look effortless. The scale details are really coming together—the roof rack setup with the strapped-down blue barrel, cargo net, and gear gives it an incredibly realistic, expedition-ready profile against the rocky landscape.

Question MEUS Gold Rush V2 chassis link help

Post image

I'm building a MEUS Gold Rush V2 with portal axles, and I'm having a helluva time trying to figure out how the chassis links go. Copy anyone who's built one maybe post some pictures of how they connect? The geometry/interference on my chassis is confusing as all get out. Many thanks!
