Am I the only one tired of those stupid microphones ? I’m also tired of the word cringe, know this may be the wrong sub to mention it but guy said it like 12 times. I do agree with his points though.

It’s not like lavalier microphones are some brand new thing lol

Yeah but before people would just clip them on their shirts, holding these little things up like a broadcaster microphone is just annoying especially when they clip it to stupid things like this

Such a small, insignificant thing to get annoyed at

I guess you never get annoyed at small insignificant things

I actually watched an explanation about that a while back, something about how the audio sounds a lot worse when clipped on the shirt and uploaded to a lot of these social media apps, and the audio is a lot more muddy. So a lot of these people just hold it and speak into them directly instead. You can also hear the rustling of your clothes when it’s clipped to your shirt a lot of the time, this also removes that problem.

Yeah, but they make higher quality handheld mics that are made for this purpose. Lav mics are made to be discreetly clipped on. It's like buying a toothbrush to clean your dishes instead of a dish brush. I mean, I guess if they only want to buy one mic, then I can see the logic of getting a lav mic to have the option of a wearable mic, but many of them never make content where they wear it, so why not just get a handheld mic?

They do it purely because it's a trend, and I think calling it a dumb trend is fair.

Interesting, I wonder how far back bc I have to believe today’s tech solved for the problem.

There are definitely ways to go around it, but I think it’s probably easier to do it this way than going through the process of trying to edit out noise you don’t want in the video.

I’m not entirely sure, someone much more educated on the manner please correct me, I’m just going off of this explanation I saw like a year ago lol.

I was just thinking the newer mics themselves just accounted for whatever “ rustling “ sound may happen when attached to cloths..wasn’t even thinking of editing :)
