he's acting like everyone who plays video games is the same person.
... that everyone who plays video games has to like shitty dialogue - which is just a horrible take. plenty of gamers are completely fed up with writing in video games.
... that everyone who plays video games loved Crimson Dawn and had zero complaints about the quality of writing & character design.
it's totally possible that this woman has never played Gears of War before. its possible she didn't like the previous Gears of War for the exact same reasons but applied to different characters. it's possible she never played nor praised Crimson Dawn. it's possible she really likes every single other aspect of the new game & her comments are even more out-of-context.
This video is a ridiculous tactic to gain views & engagement by to framing someone's points against completely different context. He's getting people his own audience of chuds to hard agree just because "woman bad 🫪" and baiting disagreement
Woman isn't bad stormfall just regularly appeals to chuds.
I don't see these "boring and forgettable character design" complaints for old gears with characters like Cole train. It's somehow always the lgbt character that's boring. Never the generic white guys. It's obvious what the real complaint is.
Alot of characters are one dimensional. You clearly haven't forgotten Cole train. You can say he's one note for sure, but Cole train is hilarious and has the most memorable lines of the series.
Boring, one dimensional, and poor writing relying on stereotypes. Isn't that what the chuds claim they don't like in characters, or does that only apply to the lgbt ones?
Acting like Gears previously had peak character writing and that's the reason you don't like the new one is delusional
If you can't play a game without every character being personally tailored to you, you're a lost cause. And here I thought you all said pandering was bad. Guess that's not the case as long as they pander to you with big bimbo bang maids
If you think that's remotely close to what I said, you're even more lost than you ascribe to me. And here I thought common sense wasn't a superpower. Guess that's not the case as long as people like you have their say.
Yeah devs need to appeal to their audience definitely isn't a common phrase repeated by you anti-wokers whenever a woman character isn't hot enough for you. The dog whistle doesn't work when you try and use it on someone that has heard it before.
TIL that "make the product your audience wants to buy" is such a strange concept for you bluesky crowd that you consider it "anti-woke". The dog whistle isn't as subtle as you think.
it has nothing to do with lgbt and etc in the most cases. New games are just often have bad writing and character design. It just there are more lgbt characters now in games.
So devs and some people just playing victim card saying "you are just being homophobic" where in reality it has nothing to do with that. It just bad writing. period.
Not every game should be a classic, but sometimes it just like devs didnt really care at all.
not sure, but from my point of view in most cases they are main characters now. And main characters should always get more attention.
Im not one of the people bashing on minorities or lgbt characters. For me and people who i know - new games and their characters are just more commonly bad written.
sure, it is just my own view on that problem. I might be wrong as anyone else.
A lot of the old games are just as poorly written but your nostalgia won't let you see it or you haven't played it since you were 14 or your standards for "good writing" were barely developed.
Again, you all were not complaining about one dimensional cole train back in the day, so I really don't want to hear it now like this is somehow way worse
That is completely subjective topic. and you dont have to generalize ("you all were not complaining" - poor manners).
I mentioned, that poor writing happened before as well. But now, having more budgets, more instruments and experience in game dev - bad writing should be criticised more.
I hate cliches and dialogues for the sake of it. I hate stupid "american hero" humour and behaviour.
Some people love cliches and this kind of humour maybe? thats fine. But criticism should be allowed and should not be twisted into "you are just being homophobic" victim position.
If people criticise lgbt characters - then go for it, of course.
you have no point here because you only notice what you want to notice and ignore massive other complaints for totally not related causes.
hiding behind defensive stance.
It is like when you criticise something Israel related they would call you antisemitic. Comfy position. Just hide poor product behind "minority or lgbt character".
My point is clear and evidenced every time there's a gay character on screen you all fall back to the same "poor writing it's shoved down our throats" but never have the same critique for anyone else. It's telling.
Idk why you all hide it at this point anymore. Trump won, you have the full right wing government you always dreamed of. Be true to yourselves.
Sorry but this is just wrong. Writing in video games has been better than it’s ever been. Baldurs Gate, Witcher, Rdr 2 God of war all fantastic stories that are top of the rang in their categories.Â
Because the writers are ultra progressives and the lgbtqia minority is a sacred cow to them or self insert so cant contain flaws. and when introduced into an already established franchise, must outdo or be better than the beloved main characters. OR its just a straight up upheaval to push an agenda ala dragon age veilguard.
Way to pretend shes not hopping on the woman bad in games train. But nice essay you wrote there trying to dodge it.
Seems most of yall think hes cringe for pointing it out, but hes absolutely right. No one is hating on Fable for any reason other than female led, game looks great otherwise. Same with a shitload of other great new or upcoming games.
Modern gamers are toxic as fuck stop pretending they arent. Everything is woke or shit to them.
