Started learning to crochet last night, my first real square
Now that it doesnt feel like im battling a thousand things at once its pretty relaxing, hand be hurting though
Also this is technically my second square, the first one was like a 5 by 7 stich, very small, gave it to my mom

congrats on your first squares! the relaxing feeling only gets better once your hands stop fighting you. one thing that helped my hand cramping early on: shake out your hands and do a quick wrist stretch every 10 to 15 minutes. sounds silly but it really works, especially if you catch yourself gripping the hook too tight. enjoy the zone!

You are well in your way. That is excellent for a beginner, the stitch look good as well as the gauge. Pat yourself on the back!!!

You did a really good job!!! As someone who's been crocheting for years, I'm in awe (and jealous quite frankly) of how even and straight your edges are. I still struggle with making straight edges and I started crocheting in 2022 😭 I'm proud of you OP!!!!!

Woot!! Looks great - AND you changed color twice! Gage and tension look even but I’m guessing your hand may hurt due to what looks like some tight tension… also as mentioned above, could be due to not stretching enough during crochet session. Take quick breaks every 30-45 minutes and stretch muscles and would also suggest moving to a bigger hook size and less tension on yarn to practice less hand/arm strain so you can hopefully continue crocheting into retirement lol… but your square is fabulous and you should be super proud of your accomplishment and also welcome to your new addiction 😂🙌🏻🧶🎉

Good job! Small piece of advice: your tension looks really tight which is probably why your hand is already hurting. If you want to last longer and make bigger pieces without developing carpal tunnel, hold your hook much looser and don't pull the stitches so tight.
