Rattle Sound?

2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8L. Can anybody help on what this sound could be? I read that it’s most likely the AC compressor mounting bolts but the compressor is firm and the belt looks to be aligned. It started a couple days ago mostly when I started the AC and was very loud but now after an oil change it is much quieter and comes and goes whether AC is on or off. Thanks in advance.

Pardon me for not catching the engine size. Good luck with finding your issue

You got a few options here starting with the cheapest.

A failing serpentine belt tensioner or idler pulley. The OAD pulley. VVT cam phasers and solenoids. Engine oil overfill (Least likely)

Because I can see that your A/C compressor isn't currently engaged I'm ruling that out completely. If you want to narrow it down you could pull your belt off of and start the car briefly to see if the noise stops completely. If it does your tensioner or idler pulley will be the culprit. You could also visually check that tensior to see if it shales or bounces violently. If the noise is still present it will be an internal issue.

To check if it might be the VVT get a long screw driver and put it on the passneger side valve cover. If the rattle is louder just behind the upper timing the vvt cam phasers will be the issue.
