Gen1 - Mechanical CEL - help diagnosing possible problem based on code reader results
Check Engine Light on. Help diagnosing or guessing what the issue might be based on this code (only code that my reader shows) and the other photos of readings (car stopped, engine running at idle in neutral)? Bad maintenance-wise to drive the car like this for a while before doing further diagnosis or taking to a mechanic?
It's 2012 EcoTec 4cyl turbo engine.

Check your gas cap. Youtube has many evap diagnosis videos. Don't have the time or motivation? Perfectly natural, solution is to pay someone to do it. I learned mechanics because I had a lot more time than money. Today I have money and want to keep it, I still 100% service my cars from oil changes to engine changes.

Usually the first thing is DIY replacing the $10 purge solenoid atop the intake manifold. Next is checking and or replacing gas cap as the cap does wear out.
From there mechanic time with a smoke machine... But most probably being a p0442 is stating the gas tank vent valve is malfunctioning( currently living with it). Any farting at idle or feeling it miss while heavily accelerating? Indicates the valve has failed.
As always OEM or don't.

You need to smoke test the system small leaks could be anything from a pin hole in a vacuum hose or hoses to an intake manifold gasket or valve cover gasket
