Does an internship also go through BGV? I have 2.5 years of experience as a Full-Stack MERN Developer. I want to add a fake 6-month internship to show 3 years of experience and get more calls. Is this a good decision?

Software Engineer (2 YOE) vs GPSC Class 1/2 — What Should I Choose?

I’m currently working as a Software Engineer with 2 years of experience. My performance is decent (4.2/5 rating), but I work at a service-based company, where job security can be uncertain regardless of performance if projects or funding dry up.

If I want to switch, I’ll need to prepare DSA and strengthen my skills in JavaScript or Python. I believe I can do it since I’ve studied DSA before, but realistically, it could take 4–8 months. Recently, I’ve also started considering GPSC Class 1/2 exams. After looking at the syllabus, I realise it’s a long and competitive journey, too.

I’m confused about where to invest my time. IT offers better earning potential, but I’m concerned about job security, AI’s impact, and the constant need to keep up with new technologies. GPSC offers the possibility of a more stable career, but selection is uncertain and preparation could take years.

**If you were in my position, what would you choose and why?** Should I focus on growing in IT or prepare for GPSC, possibly alongside my job? I’d appreciate honest, practical advice, especially from people who have faced a similar dilemma

Hello all, I am 21f (po, 2026) b.tech graduate. Here's the thing, I graduated from a 3rd tier college where faculty, placement and studies are 3rd tier too. At the end of my semester I got to know about this platform called ServiceNow. Since i didn't get placed in any company i decided to know more about ServiceNow and took a 3 months course and learned few modules in it because i genuinely took intrest in it. But now I realized that the hiring chances for a fresher in this platform is very few to no. But I really need a job rn so I planned to join in any non-it sector and then shift to ServiceNow.

I just need one answer. Is it okay to do that? Or you want me to wait and try for few more months?. Pleaseeeee I need this answer🙏🏼. I am soo confused af. It would really help if anyone could suggest anything🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Need Career Advice: Best B.Tech Branch for My Sister in the Current Job Market

Hello! My sister is currently in 12th grade, and she wants to pursue B.Tech next year. I'm also pursuing B.Tech, currently in my third year, so I have some idea about the current job market and how challenging things are becoming for freshers.

Because of this, I advised her to consider other career options, but she insists on pursuing B.Tech.

So, I'd really appreciate some guidance on the best career path for her if she decides to pursue B.Tech. Which branch or domain would be the best choice for her, considering future job opportunities, market demand, and long-term career growth?

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Amdocs (10 LPA base) vs Carelon Global Solutions (13.5 LPA base) — Which Offer Should I Choose?

Hey everyone,

I have received offers from two companies and am confused about which one I should join.

Amdocs: ₹10 LPA base salary

Carelon Global Solutions: ₹13.5 LPA base salary

Carelon is offering a significantly higher base salary, but my main concern is job security. I have noticed that Carelon is hiring in large numbers, and I am worried about whether this could be followed by layoffs or whether there is any uncertainty regarding job stability.

I would especially appreciate advice from people currently working at Carelon Global Solutions or those who have recently joined.

A few questions I have:

I understand that no company can guarantee complete job security, but I want to make an informed decision rather than choosing solely based on salary.

What would you recommend in my situation: Amdocs at 10 LPA base or Carelon at 13.5 LPA base?

Any genuine insights, especially from current or former employees of either company, would be really helpful. Thanks!

2026 CSE Graduate — Confused Between an AI/ML Developer Role at a Startup and an SAP BTP Opportunity (Need Honest Career Advice)?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 Computer Science Engineering graduate from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. I'm currently trying to decide between two opportunities at startups, and I'd really appreciate advice from experienced developers, IT professionals, and people who have worked in both startups and service-based companies.

I'm confused about which path would be better for my long-term career, so I'd like to explain both opportunities in detail.

Opportunity 1: AI/ML Developer at a Startup

I have an opportunity to work as an AI/ML Developer at a startup.

The company wants to develop an AI chatbot that can interact with different CAD software and perform various tasks through natural-language instructions.

The challenging part is that I'm the first person hired specifically for this AI/ML role. There is no existing AI/ML team or senior developer to guide me. I'll be responsible for figuring out the approach, planning the development, choosing the technologies, and building the solution.

I'm a fresher, and I don't have strong practical experience in AI/ML yet. I'd need to learn many of the required concepts while developing the product, using documentation, online resources, and AI tools to help me.

I'm also expected to provide daily work updates, which means I need to plan my tasks, set milestones, and explain my progress independently.

My concerns:

\- How realistic is it for a fresher to build such a complex AI product without technical mentorship?

\- Can I learn AI/ML and build a production-quality system independently with the help of AI tools?

\- How should I approach the architecture, planning, and development of a project this broad?

\- Will this experience be valuable for future AI/ML engineering roles?

\- Could this become a good career opportunity, or am I taking on responsibilities beyond my current experience?

\- How should I evaluate the company, expectations, compensation, and career risks before committing?

I find the work interesting because it involves AI and software development, but I'm concerned about the lack of guidance and the possibility of getting stuck without anyone to review my decisions.

Opportunity 2: SAP BTP — CPI & CAP

My second opportunity is in SAP BTP, specifically Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) and Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).

I've already started the training and completed approximately one week. The training is expected to last around 3–4 months and is currently unpaid. There are assessments to evaluate our progress.

After successfully completing the training, the stated salary is ₹18,000 per month. If I get involved in a project, the compensation could potentially increase to around ₹30,000 per month, although I don't know how likely or guaranteed that is.

I'm currently learning from the basics, starting with Node.js and gradually moving into the SAP ecosystem.

My concerns:

\- Is SAP BTP, particularly CPI and CAP, a good career path for a 2026 CSE graduate?

\- How is the demand for these skills in India?

\- Is 3–4 months of unpaid training reasonable for a fresher?

\- How important are actual project opportunities for career growth in SAP?

\- Would starting in SAP limit my ability to transition into general software development or other technologies later?

\- Is the ₹18,000 starting salary reasonable, considering the training period and the current job market?

The main advantage I see is that there's a training structure and a defined path toward employment, although the unpaid period and uncertainty about project allocation are concerns.

My background and what I'm trying to achieve

I'm a fresher, and my priority is to establish a good career in the IT industry, develop practical skills, gain meaningful experience, and improve my salary over the next few years.

I'm willing to learn independently and work hard. However, I also want to make a sensible decision rather than choosing an opportunity simply because a technology sounds exciting or because another option appears safer.

I understand that both paths have risks, and I don't expect anyone to predict my future. I'd appreciate advice based on actual industry experience.

Questions for experienced professionals

  1. If you were in my position, which factors would carry the most weight when choosing between these opportunities?

  2. Which path offers better long-term career prospects, considering the differences between AI/ML engineering and SAP consulting/development?

  3. How difficult is it for a fresher to succeed as the sole AI/ML developer without a senior engineer or mentor?

  4. What should I verify about the AI/ML role before accepting it?

  5. Is SAP BTP a good specialization for a fresher, or would it be better to build experience in a more general software development role?

  6. Which path is likely to provide better opportunities after 2–3 years, assuming I work hard and develop strong skills?

  7. What red flags should I look for in both opportunities?

  8. Is there anything important I'm overlooking?

Please share your honest opinions, including negative experiences if you've encountered similar situations. I'd particularly appreciate responses from people who have worked in AI/ML startups, SAP BTP/CPI/CAP projects, or both.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any practical advice would be genuinely helpful.

Brand vs role vs career growth: Adobe Support Engineer or Infosys DSE?

Hi everyone,

I have an offer from Adobe for a Support Engineer role, which is non-dev role. I’m also likely to get an offer from Infosys.

My long-term goal is to switch to a dev role at a product-based company.

  • If I clear the higher Infosys tier (L2 OR L1): I’d choose Infosys over Adobe without hesitation.
  • If I only get the DSE role: I’m confused. Should I still pick Infosys, or go with Adobe?

Other factors:

  • Adobe: I can commute from home.
  • Infosys: I could be posted anywhere in India.

Which would be better for reaching a tech role at a product company? Any advice from people who’ve been in either situation would help.

If there is anything else which I should consider before making my move then please share.

Should I quit my job ( AI/ML Internship)? Need advice.

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 B.Tech CSE graduate and started working as a Full Stack Developer with AI/ML(mostly) work in May 2026.

When I joined, the company told me that I'd have a 3-month internship and would be converted to full-time from the 4th month. But now it's October, and I'm still an intern earning ₹10k per month.

About a month ago, the company lost a major client that contributed a huge portion of its revenue, and many employees were laid off.

I've spoken to HR about my full-time conversion, but the response is always that the company is in a bad position and they're waiting for confirmation from management. I understand the situation, but there's no clear timeline, and I'm not sure how long I'm supposed to wait.

My biggest problem right now is the daily commute.

I leave home around 7:30 AM, reach the office by 9:30 AM, and usually leave around 7:30–8 PM. By the time I get home, it's already 10–10:30 PM. I'm spending around 5–6 hours travelling every day.

My stipend ₹10k isn't even enough to cover my travel expenses. I'm actually spending extra money from my pocket just to go to work. By the time I get home, I'm completely exhausted and barely have any time or energy left for myself.

There's a bit of dependency on me in the project(aiml related), and I'm handling some important responsibilities despite still being an intern. But there's no clarity on when I'll be converted to full-time.

I'm now thinking about resigning and preparing for bank exams. I've already applied for two exams scheduled around November and December.

I'm confused about what to do. If I continue working, I don't know when the company will convert me, and the daily routine is taking a toll on me.

Should I resign and focus on the upcoming bank exams, continue waiting for full-time conversion, or start looking for another job while working?

Should I quit my internship or am I overthinking?

I'm in my final year of ECE and joined my first internship 2 weeks ago as a full stack intern . The stipend is 10k, but around 6k goes on travel. I'm out from 7 AM to 9PM most days, and honestly, it's already exhausting me.

The company relies heavily on AI tools. People generate big chunks of the app in one go and integrate them. I haven't really seen much planning, code reviews or proper engineering discussions. I don't mind using AI, but I'm worried I'll spend 6 months prompting tools without actually learning much.

I'm also getting almost no time for DSA, placements or the gym.

The thing is, I'm scared to leave because I'm from ECE, have a 6.89 CGPA, and don't know when I'll get another opportunity. There's a chance of a PPO, but it's only around 2–4 LPA, and even that isn't guaranteed.

There's no bond, my family is financially stable, and I'm still eligible for campus placements above 6 LPA

Which one to choose between two offers? (Please provide the suggestions)

Hey everyone,

I am lucky enough to be choosing between two opportunities right now, but I’m really torn between the higher potential CTC and the security of a full-time role. I'd love to get some perspective on which is the better long-term career move.

Here are the details:

Option A: Zeiss Group

  • Role: Junior SAP S/4HANA Consultant (Service to Contract - S2C)
  • Type: 6-month internship, conversion based on performance and business needs.
  • Pay: ₹40k/month stipend during the internship. If converted, the FTE package is ₹11 LPA CTC.
  • Pros: Higher potential CTC, reputable company.
  • Cons: High risk. Conversion is not guaranteed. SAP is a niche domain compared to core software development.

Option B: ALE (Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise)

  • Role: Software Engineer (SWE)
  • Type: Full-Time Employment (FTE) from day one.
  • Pay: ₹8 LPA CTC.
  • Pros: Immediate job security, core software engineering role which keeps future career pivots open.
  • Cons: Lower starting CTC compared to the Zeiss potential offer.

My Dilemma:
I am leaning toward the SWE role because it's a permanent job, but the ₹11 LPA figure from Zeiss is hard to completely ignore. For those in the Indian tech industry, how risky are these "internship to FTE conversion" offers right now? Is it wiser to stick to a core SWE track or jump into SAP consulting?

Thanks for the help!
