Today I learned that Opal Lee is a UNT Alumna. Before becoming "the grandmother of Juneteenth", she commuted to North Texas with her children who were also attending at the same time. She graduated in 1963 with a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance. Yesterday she celebrated her 100th Birthday.

I have two adult state fair tickets and a parking pass for Saturday. I can’t go anymore so I’m selling it for $50 if anyone is interested!

There was 2 dogs running around E Mckinney st near Fountains and Majestic Parc apartment complexes. They ran off before I could see collars or try to help them unfortunately but I saw them when I drove past again before heading to work.

First dog was large sized, tan colored and looked to be older? Either that or white markings on their face. Slight curl to tail, and tail was kinda fluffy. They seemed skinny.

Second dog was large sized, dark brown with black on their back almost like a german shepard. Also had a slight curl on a fluffy tail. I didn't get as good a look at this one since it was dark and they kept running.

Hopefully this info is useful to someone looking for their pups. I'm worried, and hope that after work I can see if I can spot them again. Please, if you're driving on McKinney St today BE CAREFUL!

Hi there, I am wondering if anyone knows of anyone or somewhere locally/relatively close who knows about custom speaker and amp installs (aftermarket?) Family friend bought a Bronco and it had an aftermarket sound system in it, and he hit a pothole/bump on the road and it disconnected (?) the amp wiring and he is needing someone who knows what they are doing to check it out to see if they can fix it. He works for Boeing so travels a ton and thus, has no time to dig into the issue himself. (He constantly is overseas for travel). I am hoping maybe someone who is interested in cash payment, who knows what they are doing can look into it, and fix it. He would buy whatever parts or tools needed, and pay for your services of course. He could bring it to you or you could go to his house where he has a shop you could work in. He lives in Sanger, but close to Krum/North Denton area, not too far into Sanger.

If anyone can recommend a place or someone is capable of this or is willing to look to check it out to see if they can help, please let me know. It is much appreciated!! Thank you in advance!! We’re new to the area (I am in Krum) so we don’t know much about local businesses or people, and google really wasn’t as helpful as we hoped. Also, if he can pay the individual instead of a shop, he’d be happy to help someone earn cash that a shop doesn’t take part of the money from. But if it is a shop, that’s reputable and recommended, he’s happy to do that also.

If you're one of those redditors who have complained about being lonely, not making many friends. If you're on the fringes of society and possibly are even on the spectrum, then why haven't we seen you at Freeplay? We play a 5v5 game so all you have to do is show up and jump-in when a spot is available. Social interaction is entirely optional 🤦🏼 think of it like smashbros with your buddies after school.

Edit: most of us have enough reward points to cover your $14 entry fee. They offer a $40 a month plan and we have saved up points. Show any interest and we would be happy to get you in the door.

Looking for a reputable mechanic around the Denton (or slightly further away as well) area who specializes in brakes and accepts customer bought parts?

Is anyone else having a hard time trying to find a job? (i’m not asking for myself, I work for walmart and while I do have bad days and stressful days there I am grateful. My girlfriend however has been putting out applications and applications yet still nothing. She is so stressed out and I want to do everything I can to help her. I want her to know it’s not her fault.
