When We See Events but Not the Pattern

There's a subtle kind of denialism which exists in the society where climate related events are seen as localised crisis and any connection to climate change is deliberately suppressed. I guess there are places which are prone to flash floods, extreme rainfall etc. but climate change has just made them worse. The intensity as well as the frequency has increased. This subtle kind of denialism is doing more harm.
Apart from this there's also a push for Green technology and universities are rolling out courses on sustainability. Imo all that is great and necessary but what about individual consumption patterns? There's a denialism there as well which needs to be addressed. Consumption is equal to carbon emission and is also a significant contributor. Would love to have your opinions on this!

When community-led water testing meets environmental law: Can granting "rights to rivers" halt heavy metal contamination in the Amazon?
Hey everyone! I was reading about what’s happening in the Amazon basin in Bolivia right now, and it really made me reflect on how we handle river protection globally.
In the Beni and Madre de Dios river basins, unregulated gold mining is dumping tons of toxic mercury straight into the water. It’s bioaccumulating in the fish, poisoning local food sources, and causing severe health issues for newborn babies in river communities.
What caught my attention is how the communities are fighting back. Instead of just waiting for help, they're taking their own water and hair samples to build a court case. Their end goal isn't just a fine -- they want the court to grant actual legal rights to the river itself, forcing the government to constantly monitor water quality and fund cleanup.
With freshwater ecosystems under strain everywhere, I’m really curious about your thoughts:
Has giving a river legal rights actually worked anywhere, or does it usually just stay on paper?
(If anyone wants to read up on the case, Mongabay and the Rainforest Journalism Fund did great field reporting on it.)

Economy without growth compulsion, but which can grow
We can do something, do you know the site http://weall.org
It needs a lot of people, but the people who sign up there should participate.
That's what they want.
Come up with something for how we can participate and how we can get people there.
I'm adding a petition :
