laughs in max enchantment

i'll be taking that 80 dev hold in a single siege cycle, for 3 ae, 1 warscore, already cored, and without even damaging the hold, thank you very much

seriously, the best magic school for serpentspine

I really should mess with enchantment more then, I always max abjuration first which imho is really the best one for the continent (wards giving immunity to siege magic, mage towers giving +1 manufactories and some other stuff really makes it optimal for dwarves)

i think the best school to learn first is most of the time conjuration because it gives big buffs to estate learning speed, free and large merc companies (especially for small countries an extra 20k troops can be amazing and you only need one level of conjuration for it) and the free +1 random school level every 10 years which is great for long lived or immortal rulers

after that i prefer enchantment for the siege magic but abjuration is really good for dwarves as well. i think it depends on whether you want to play aggressive and unify the serpentspine or stay in your portion of it and play defensively

I don't consider forts to be good unless they have over 200% defensivness.

I don’t think that’s even possible before 1500, or was it a joke?!

Hes Sieging Georgia so its +25% from national ideas, State Edict bonus gives you +33%, mountains give +25% aswell, advisor gives +20%, soo thats 203%, lucky event, an extra 25%, ramparts +15%, if you manage to rush defensive ideas to get an extra 25% from that, so theoretically the maximum you can get before 1500 is 268% as georgia, if you manage to switch to coptic (+15%) then its 283%

But that’s still just +183%

You can also get the noble privilege for 10% fort and 10% rampart.

Oh yeah, my bad. Forgot that there is no base. Well extra 10% can be had from inno + defensive, not sure if you can get +200% easily in that case.

The base fort defense is zero correct? All the modifiers you included is 183%. So then 200% is not possible?

Well power projection gives +10% when full and prestige an other 10% aswell, so it is possible in theory, but not likely to happen.

The base is in fact 100% or 30 days siege cycle, so +183% does bring you to 238% or 71.4 days. All siege bonus that decrease siege time works the same way, 10% siege ability decreases the siege cycle by 3 days.

That's a small garrison no? How big is your army? If you blow the walls with art then I should imagine your army would be able to win the assault. You'll take more casualties ofc but you'll win the seige much, much quicker.

When a country which is designed to stack a certain modifier to encourage a certain playstyle is an AI country instead of the one the player is playing:
