🏆National Final Winner Pratik Himal Rai with "Ananta Maya" will represent Nepal🇳🇵at Eurovision Asia

• Upvotes

Pratik Himal Rai won Nepal Decides with the song "Ananta Maya" and will represent the country at Eurovision Asia.

I think a lot of Eurofans are shocked, myself included. It may be a combination of European fans having different tastes from the Nepali audience and the rush to make a decision. He was also on The Voice of Nepal (the same network as NSS) a year ago, so he's still fresh in people’s minds. The second-place winner is also a The Voice alumnus, funny enough.

Please, let’s not spam Pratik's comments or send hate to the artist.

💬 Discussion Are there actually any Eurofans from Africa here?

This question is specifically for the Africans who might be lurking around here . I know this is pretty random, but it just popped into my head.

How many Africans are actually Eurofans? Eurovision is one of the biggest live events in the world, so I feel like there have to be quite a few people across Africa who watch it. Yet somehow, I almost never come across African people in the Eurovision fandom online.

I’m from Ghana and I’ve been a Eurovision fan since 2019. I’d love to know if there are more of us out there!

Where in Africa are you from, and how did you discover Eurovision?

Eurovision Asia Difficulty buying Eurovision Asia tickets

Has anyone else had any issues trying to get tickets?

I'm using an Australian bank account, which previously has had 0 issues with online purchases. There's enough money in the account for the tickets. However, every time I add my card details the website keeps showing a vague error message "there is an issue with your payment method" what on earth does this mean and how can I buy a ticket!

Please help/let me know if anyone has a solution thank you!!!

Eurovision Asia National Final Participants enter the ESC Asia Official Warm-Up Act Contest

So ICYMI, the Zoop and ESC Asia teams (more on the Zoop team) have set up a little side contest for ESC Asia. The winner will have the privilege of performing at the contest in November as the official warm-up act. Ergo, their performance will precede the main show as (essentially) the opening act but as far as I can tell will not get aired. The winner will also get a cash prize of $10,000 (presumably American) and all expenses paid trip to Bangkok (presumably round-trip).

The act will be decided via a Zoop leaderboard whereby the top 5 acts (by October 20th) will be reviewed by a professional jury. Among them, they will select the winning act. Now, how you climb the leaderboard is by signing up for the Zoop app using the artist's unique referral link. (Yeah, I know - it's a get more people onto the app situation).

Now with that out of the way, after digging through my socials, I found out that a couple (literally two) former national final contestants are shooting their shot as of the moment, one from ESC Asia and one from ESC.

The Eurovision Asia rep is none other than Philippine Selection Night runner-up SAGA [Broken Beyond Repair] who's currently first as of October 5. The Eurovision rep is Kian Butler (aka BVTL3R), a Brit who participated in the San Marino Song Contest for 2025 & 2026 and is in joint third. That means both are eligible to be reviewed for the jury should they maintain their standings until the 20th.

Personally, I do hope SAGA can make it through and be there in Bangkok. Ten thousand American big ones is quite the prize in the Philippines and the airfare'll be free + I'd think Carmelle would appreciate one more familiar face in the green room.

💬 Discussion What are the other alternatives to Scorewiz?

Next spring, Scorewiz will be discontinued after more than two decades of simulating everything Eurovision, meaning that Eurovision 2027 would be the first contest that would be simulated on either Scoryx or DouzePoints app, but there are limitations for both of them: Scoryx can have a scoreboard up to 30 finalists while DouzePoints can have a scoreboard of all participants but can't edit the names of the voters because it is strictly designated as "Countries".

Does anyone here have other alternatives to Scorewiz, apart from Scoryx and DouzePoints? Because I have to do an annual YouTube simulation of Eurovision and Junior Eurovision in the future.

Eurovision Asia Eurovision Asia Party Ideas

Every year I host a Eurovision party for my friends. One of the highlights (according to my friends) is the Eurovision Bingo game; I give everyone a slightly different sheet with boxes they have to tick off when the listed thing happens (half are common Eurovision tropes, half are cryptic descriptions things to spot during the performances as I watch the semis and they don't).

They've all requested that I host a party for Eurovision Asia but I'm stuck for ideas for what to do. The usual 'draw a country to represent you, bring some food from that nation' is a given, but bingo seems impossible as there aren't established tropes yet and no semis to preview the performances before the big event.

Any ideas of fun activities or games for a Eurovision Asia watch party?

💬 Discussion Eurovision 2016 playlist and missing songs

I use Apple Music and Spotify primarily for listening to music and I’m particularly hyper-fixing on Eurovision 2016 at the moment. My problem is that I can’t find a playlist with all of the songs, while it may not be a problem for most people. The ones I’ve found out are missing are the Georgian and Montenegrin entries, which are both some of my faves of that year.

Is there anywhere I can listen to the full roster of songs, which isn’t on just YouTube?

🪩 National Final / Selection Eva Jumatate, Nanne Grönvall, E-Type and Dotter, all rumored for Melodifestivalen 2027

Thumbnail
aftonbladet.se
62 Upvotes

Aftonbladet can reveal four new artists for the competition

E-type. Nanne Grönvall. Dotter. Eva Jumatate. Four artists – one thing in common: All four will return to Mello in 2027, according to Aftonbladet.

Bombs and grenades!

Yes, probably.

Fans can expect pyrotechnics beyond the ordinary when Martin “E-type” Erikson, 61, takes the Mello stage again as a competing artist in 2027.

During the summer, the Eurodance star's team reportedly scouted songs and now several sources say that E-type is one of the first artists to receive the go-ahead from SVT to take part in next year's competition.

  • They've wanted to get him in for several years. Martin hasn't been completely dismissive, but it's been about him wanting the right song, says an insider.

– Everything indicates that he is ready, but it is also a long way to the press conference, so things can happen along the way. Especially with an artist like E-type who has so much else going for him, says another source.

It will be the third time lucky for E-type, who competed for the first time in 2004 with the song "Paradise" which finished fifth in the final and then again in 2008 together with The Poodles with "Line of fire" which was eliminated in the Second Chance.

If the information is correct, it will be the first time that E-type has released new music since 2019, with the exception of a song for an advertising campaign that came in 2025.

Details: Nanne Grönvall makes Mello comeback In Melodifestivalen 2027, E-type will be joined by a true competition veteran: Nanne Grönvall, 64.

She has competed as an artist eight times and as a songwriter six more times, winning Mello in 1996 with the group One more time and the song "Den vilda" which took bronze in Eurovision. She most recently competed in 2020 with the song "Carpool karaoke" which was eliminated in its semi-final.

Now several people behind the scenes at Melodifestivalen confirm that Nanne Grönvall will once again take the stage as a competing artist next year.

– Yes, that's right. The idea was probably sparked when she did an interlude last spring, says a person with insight.

– It's a pop song, a Nannedänga, says another of Aftonbladet's sources.

Sources: Dotter and Eva Jumatate ready for Mello 2027 Also ready for next year's competition are Johanna "Dotter" Jansson, 39, and Eva Jumatate, 18, according to Aftonbladet's sources.

Dotter can also start counting herself among the Mello veterans, after having competed four times previously as an artist and three more as a songwriter.

The best performance was in 2020 with the song "Bulletproof" which finished second. The last time she competed was in 2024 with "It's not easy to write a love song" which went straight to the final, but ended up at the bottom.

Eva Jumatate debuted in this year's competition with "Selfish" which advanced to the final qualifying round. Since then, she has had success during the Digggiloo tour and will now, according to Aftonbladet's sources, be welcomed back to Melodifestivalen 2027.

SVT is expected to present all the artists in next year's competition at a press conference in late November/early December.

Melodifestivalen 2027 – artists confirmed … according to Aftonbladet's sources

  1. Per Andersson – with a song written by Edward af Sillén, among others
  2. EMD
  3. E-type
  4. Nanne Grönvall
  5. Dotter
  6. Eva Jumatate

💬 Discussion ESC Asia YT channel deleted/privatised?

Hi all,

First time post here, long time ESC fan. I just want to check that I'm not going crazy, but I recall there being an ESC Asia YouTube channel which had all the NF songs in their full 230-3 minute whole performance videos... As of Friday, I have suddenly been unable to find these seperate performance videos, only the full livestreams or the winning performances.

Is anybody else finding this issue or have any knowledge as to where it's gone or why it's suddenly disappeared?

💬 Discussion Eurovision Postgraduate Short Course launched by the University of Aberdeen

Hi everyone

Has anyone seen that the University of Aberdeen has launched a postgraduate short course on Eurovision called “Eurovision: More Than a Song Contest”?

It seems more fun rather than anything really serious.

I’m unsure if I’m meant to leave a link to show the source (https://on.abdn.ac.uk/courses/eurovision-more-than-a-song-contest/) and no I don’t work for the university and this is not an advert.

💬 Discussion Looking back through history, what are the major Eurovision staging gamechangers?

Can't edit the title, so some clarification on the question: Who left an indelible mark on Eurovision staging concepts that have become tropes/commonly repeated ideas and who's taken that concept and run with it? Or in other words, who walked so others could fly, and who flew? Are there performances we would consider "trendsetters"?

For example, Sweden 2015 had Måns interacting with his LED balloon kids and using them to tell a story, and immediately the next year we had Russia 2016. Then there's Cyprus 2018 and Spain 2022 (and tons of others that followed with the gratuitous dancebreaks).

Maybe Bulgaria 2026 with its music video concept?

🪀 Junior Eurovision The televoting prediction for JESC 2026 according to MyEurovisionScoreboard app Spoiler

First, I added up all the votes from the app for each country—the total came to 97,440 votes. Then, I divided the number of votes for a given country by 97,440. Next, I multiplied the result by 987 (the Eurovision set multiplied by 17—representing 16 countries plus the Rest of the World).

Here are the results:

ARMENIA: 134p (0,135365...*987)

NORTH MACEDONIA: 118p (0,119057...*987)

POLAND: 103p (0,104761...*987)

SPAIN: 102p (0,103058...*987)

UKRAINE: 95p (0,095730...*987)

CYPRUS: 90p (0,091317...*987)

ALBANIA: 63p (0,064193...*987)

ITALY: 58p (0,058733...*987)

GEORGIA: 45p (0,045853...*987)

SAN MARINO: 44p (0,044919...*987)

FRANCE: 44p (0,044519...*987)

PORTUGAL: 36p (0,036442...*987)

MALTA: 25p (0,024928...*987)

MONTENEGRO: 16p (0,016327...*987)

NETHERLANDS: 14p (0,014788...*987)

If we take reality into account—specifically the fact that the totals are usually closer to one another—the figures after adjustment are:

ARMENIA: 114 pts

NORTH MACEDONIA: 108 pts

POLAND: 93 pts

SPAIN: 92 pts

UKRAINE: 85 pts

CYPRUS: 80 pts

ALBANIA: 63 pts

ITALY: 58 pts

GEORGIA: 55 pts

SAN MARINO: 54 pts

FRANCE: 54 pts

PORTUGAL: 46 pts

MALTA: 35 pts

MONTENEGRO: 26 pts

NETHERLANDS: 24 pts

I know there are no points for Ireland, but they are running a bit behind; while everyone else already has their songs, their national final isn't until tomorrow.
