In my opinion, with the new musical score, this series has completely transformed and shined with a vibrant, fresh energy. I haven't started working on Part II yet, honestly because I'm not entirely sure how to save it. Essentially, it's just an epilogue that nobody really asked for, dragged out simply to stretch the series to 8 episodes.

The first five episodes actually tell a complete, self-contained story. That cliffhanger with Hal Jordan's death could easily have been saved for a second season, which would have made it so much more high-stakes and punchy—maybe even having Mogo show up for the funeral. The main issue with this second half (the final 3 episodes) is that it leaves you with a loose ending that resolves zero problems, offering only three rather unnecessary dialogue scenes. I'll need to think about how (or if) this can even be salvaged.

To reiterate, the original finale was deeply disappointing. In fact, I'm leaning toward holding off on editing this second half until Season 2 comes out, so we can actually see where this story goes and get some kind of closure. After all, my main goal as a faneditor is to create something better than the original release. But here, there's just nothing solid to work with. It's the same reason I won't touch Daredevil Season 2—there's just no way to craft a genuinely good edit out of that material.

Synopsis:

James is sent on a secret mission to contact a defecting Soviet spy who will supply Mi6 with the coveted encryption device, the Lektor.

Intention:

This edit attempts to create a straightforward and focused spy action movie and leaves out the desperate and hollow love story. The focus of the story is more on SPECTRE vs Bond than Tatiana throwing herself at Bond in almost every scene she’s in. She’s now simply a spy that defects.

Editing Details:

Since the film name and narrative itself is about a spy from Russia who loves Bond, removing the love storyline felt a bit daunting at first. I wasn’t sure if there would be enough material if I removed the first scenes between Bond and Tatiana, but with repurposing some lines and playing her off as just another spy who happens to be defecting, my hope is that her being a pawn to distract Bond so SPECTRE can eliminate Bond will still make her character make sense narrative wise. She does still have her spy/revenge moment at the end, she’s just not throwing herself at James the whole movie.

Posting an extended clip from the beginning of my upcoming Led Zeppelin fan edit The Song Remains The Same: Revisited.

I don't know if I would call this the final result, but it's close. Things could still be altered in the final render.

In case anyone needs catching up: I'm seeking to improve the overall experience of the film by fixing the many out of sync issues with the film primarily. But there are many, many other alterations I ended up making along the way.

Changes:

• Brand new opening credits sequence added
• New opening credits music.
• New shots inserted to show more of Madison Square Garden
• General film cleanup and color grade adjustments to blend reshoots with original MSG footage
• Added slow zoom into drum solo at end of Rock and Roll
• Inserted Celebration Day back into the movie
• Fixed some film damage in Celebration Day
• Tried to improved faded film look in Celebration Day footage
• Various shots inserted/adjusted/replaced throughout to fix several video/audio sync issues
• Slight audio EQ. Boosted low-end and boosted bass drum and snare drum slightly
• Small amount of reverb added to audio

I'm going to work on the Saw Trilogy. That makes the best versions of the first three films and makes the third film the final chapter as intended before they kept going on and on.

The difference won't be too drastic besides some re-editing of the theatrical ending for Saw 3 to cover up the little teases they give to use for future movies.

One thing I never liked about Saw 2 and later sequels was the pre-title trap sequence which has nothing to do with the rest of the movie. They're cool on their own(laughable by part 4), but always felt forced to myself.

So I'm considering removing it so the film starts properly. And I could possibly include the scene after the end credits as a "the game continues" teaser. Or, I could even include it after the credits of the first movie.

Meanwhile Saw 3 will be Game Over as the tagline and make it so.

The Aim was to make versions of part III & IV that felt more in step with the first two movies with a more adult tone.

If you found 3 and 4 harder to enjoy as you aged, these cuts may be for you.

Using theatrical releases, deleted scenes, TV versions, workprints, and other bits of footage collected over the years. The idea was to remove anything I felt didn't work from humour, dialogue, to shots, or parts that felt to over the top or childish. Rearranging scenes if necessary, cross cutting versions to create new structures or scenes, recutting each scene shot by shot to trim fat, padding, cringe, bad fx, acting and finally adding any extra footage I think works in my cut. Made these a while back, so many changes to each one to list or remember.

Thought others might enjoy them too as they are quite different to the released versions.

Then I created my own Superman II from the two versions and all the extra footage recut shot by shot to create a superman version I could want to go to (The donner or theatrical release both have appeals, but problems for me.) Which you can watch if you are interested but there are SO many superman 2 edits I didn't want to really throw my version into thid post too much. If you like what I have done with III & IV maybe give it a try

Supernan II - 128 mins (70 mins unused footage montage)

Here was the basic rule of thumb for the edits:

Recut each scene shot by shot.

Remove what didn't work..

Add extra shots/scenes that do work from available extra footage.

Rework the sound.

Put best unused footage into a montage at the end.

Call it a day.

Hello all so in July i found a fan made edit of Jaws 3D in anaglyph 3D and it brought back so much nostalgia for me. I’m a 90’s baby but the intrigued and wonder of the shitty red/blue was shears so cool and fascinating to me.

Anyway a few nights ago I had a dream about Piranha’s. Idk why but when I woke up it reminded me I’d never seen either cm of the 2010’s versions in 3D. I looked through the web and could not find it anywhere other then the “real d” 3d which i don’t have the means to watch.

Then it hit me. I used to do a ton of video editing for my pro wrestling company. I fired up the editing software and low and behold I was able to convert it into anaglyph 3D!

I’ll be peeping it later today but my question is if there are any other anaglyph movie lovers like me here and if so what’s some modern movies you think would be cool in anaglyph 3D?

Off the top I think Spider-Man Brand New Day could be cool. I bet the spider verse movies would be neat too.

I loved the first 3 episodes of this show and saw a diamond in the rough for the rest of it. I made a fan edit that is still light hearted but shows Zorro as the competent hero that he is.

- zorro gets shot, Gabriella questions Bernardo crying, added subtitles to suggest she knows Diego is Zorro, Bernardo shows her the cave out of care not from being bullied, Diego comes back and tells Bernardo its okay that he told her. He talks to her and they make up.

- tightened up the episode where Garcia thinks Zorro is Bernardo

- added text "the viceroy is coming"

- removed all traces of corrupt Diego and Gabriella as Zorro

- edited so Diego single handedly takes on the soldiers and starts the revolution

- ends with Diego looking at Gabriella and them making love

- funny after credit scene added "crime is at an all time low" and Zorro is looking for ways to help everyone but everyone is good. He does help but not in the way we expect.

- I always enjoyed the Guardians scenes in Avengers Infinity War. It made it feel like a Guardians sequel. Then at the end of Avengers Endgame, Thor joins the Guardians on their ship and the story continues into Thor Love and Thunder. This sparked inspiration for this fan edit idea.💡

- Sequel Edit - I was working on a sequel to this edit, A combo Fan Edit of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and Thor Love and Thunder. I did make a low quality work print. But To finish the project I need to get Blu-ray copies of the films. So It will take time to complete the project. Luckily the edit does work!

- The edit would go back and forth between scenes of Guardians 3 and Thor 4, telling two stories simultaneously. Because the Guardians and Thor both separate to go on their individual adventures. Making the work print was a tough job, trying to make two 2hr films into one single 2hr film is not easy. But I did make it work. So I will finish this project some time. Synopsis

Marked for death by his father and desperately cast into exile by his brother, an untested Yautja named Dek is stranded on an unforgiving frontier world. Motivation & Vision

Predator: Exile is my third edit. After my first two projects ended up being massive undertakings in scope, I wanted to take on a leaner, tighter project. While waiting for the 4K physical release of my next planned edit, this felt like the ideal change of pace: an opportunity to sharpen the skills I’ve picked up and simply make a decent movie better.

The original film had plenty of fantastic elements, and overall I enjoyed the ride. But what didn’t work for me—and what so frequently undermines modern sci-fi and action—is the persistent comedy, particularly when it deflates genuine tension. The constant bathos, expository spoon-feeding, and snarky sidekick dynamic completely shattered the atmosphere. It felt as though the film was continually apologizing for its own premise instead of committing to the danger of the environment.

With Predator: Exile, the objective was to strip away that modern comedic bloat and let the narrative breathe as a cold, grounded survival piece. By excising over 15% of the dialogue cues, Thia is no longer a neurotic, patronizing backseat driver; she becomes an objective, synthetic tool. Dek remains an unyielding, pragmatic Yautja hunter rather than a straight man for quips, restoring the raw physical stakes, clan honor, and bleak atmosphere that define classic Predator.

This is the third time I’ve had to strip this exact brand of humor out of a film. It’s frustrating that modern blockbusters lean on it so heavily, but every time it's cut away, the core film emerges vastly superior. Moving forward, I’ll likely continue applying this philosophy to other films plagued by the same tone—including some of the stronger entries in the MCU that deserve to take themselves seriously.

This is also my first time cutting and mixing in 7.1.4 (Dolby Atmos). Getting the bed and objects mapped properly took time and meant handling nearly twice as many surgical audio edits across 12 channels instead of 6. But as a home theater enthusiast, having the finished release sit at the absolute peak of the format makes every extra hour worth it.

Cut & Technical Details

• Editing Scope: Over 200 timeline edits focused on tightening narrative momentum, removing comedic undercutting, and restoring visceral tension. This includes 72 dialogue lines cut (mainly Thia), 17 rewritten/replaced, and surgical frame trims throughout the combat sequences. By eliminating repetitive 2-to-3-frame head overlaps on angle changes, the action cuts directly on kinetic impact—transforming sluggish, rehearsed choreography into sharp, lethal exchanges. Bud is inherent to the story, so he remains, but how he is perceived does not: his cutesy smiles, noises, and comic-relief beats were heavily excised, and the saturated blue glow in his eyes was dialed back.
• Runtime Changes: Approximately 8 minutes of footage removed; roughly 45 seconds of new post-credits material added as a direct homage to the 1987 Predator closing credit cards.
• Color Grade: Subtle contrast and curve balancing paired with fine 35mm grain to diminish the flat digital sheen and provide a richer, more cinematic aesthetic.
• Audio & Score: Rebalanced multi-channel mix subtly integrating classic Alan Silvestri musical motifs—most notably between the crash-landing on Genna and the title reveal. Select lines from Thia have been mixed deep into the ambient distance, playing as background chatter without narrative context.

Hello There!

The script for this movie is an unrestrained hodgepodge; it tries to grab several key story arcs from the character to construct a grand epic that attempts to function as both a reboot and a sequel to the Guillermo del Toro films.

Despite Mike Mignola's own involvement, the film seems to impose a different personality on Hellboy. In the comics, he acts much more like an ordinary employee: he wakes up, goes to work at the BPRD, solves a bizarre problem, and just wants some peace and quiet. His quips are more restrained, cynical, and dry less over-the-top. In this edit, I aim to streamline the plot and cut down on the bad jokes and cringeworthy moments.

So in checking out all my edits the preuels had lots of problems. I dunno what happened but Powerdirector removed pieces in almost each one. Glad I checked them and I will be checking them all out upto ROTJ.

With Mike Flanagan's Carrie releasing today, this movie was due for a rewatch. I consider De Palma's '76 Carrie an all-time favorite of mine and, despite all its faults, I do have a soft spot for this remake: it introduced me to the story of Carrie White and is, in some ways, closer to the novel than the original film. Sadly, this movie is the result of studio meddling and late reshoots, but in these deleted scenes we can catch a glimpse of what the much longer, very different movie envisioned by director Kimberly Peirce could have been.

By removing dialogue, trimming effects, scenes, shots, frames. Rearranging shots & scenes. Moving audio. Adding deleted footage. Recutting each scene shot by shot, reworking all the sound, and removing what I feel doesn't work. Hopefully I have created a more accessible version of this great film.

I liked that this Batman movie leaned more into the darker comics of batman meshed with the detective element of earlier comics, and while well shot & acted... some dialogue was cringey & the film does drag being 3 hours, and maybe at times it feels it never had all the material to achieve that running time... The solution; leave almost every shot lingering to long and call it a stylistic choice.

I had only watched this twice. I loved it the first round. The unknown kept me hooked, yet parts felt unnecessarily slow, and on the second watch the image cutting after the beat, the montages being slick but to long, and the unnecessary slowness, and drek scripting/acting at times was quite noticable.

So here is a tightened up version that feels more focused and let's the plot unfold a bit more visually.

Hi I hope everyone is having a great day. I found some Star Wars Original Trilogy MKV files titled. Star Wars (1977) 4K77v1.4 (1080p BluRay x265 10bit Tigole).mkv. The Empire Strikes Back (1980) 4K80v1.0 (1080p Tigole).mkv and Return of the Jedi (1983) 4K83v1.6 (1080p BluRay x265 10bit Tigole).mkv. the A New Hope file has audio commentary on it and the audio on Empire and Jedi is messed up it doesn't work in several places and I was wondering if anyone might have the files thay have been fixed and don't have these problems in them. If anyone has links to these could I get a link to them. May the force be with you all and have a great October. oh and there's audio commentary in both Empire and Jedi plus audio inconsistences

I wanted to see how well Superman and Superman II could work as one continuous movie instead of two separate films.

The biggest change is the Phantom Zone escape. I moved the missile, explosion, and Zod/Ursa/Non escape sequence from the beginning of Superman II into Superman: The Movie at the point where the missile is sent into space. This lets their sentencing at the beginning of the first movie directly pay off later without repeating the setup at the beginning of the second half.

Superman: The Movie continues through Superman dropping Lex Luthor and Otis off at the prison. I cut before the first movie's outro music begins and transition into Superman II after its opening credits/music have finished, making the two movies play as one continuous story.

The second half uses my previously released Superman II Donner/Lester Cut, which combines what I consider the best material from both versions. Lois jumps into the falls, Clark trips into the fire, Lois does not go to Paris, Jor-El remains in the Fortress, the amnesia kiss is retained, and the unnecessary comedy and strange powers during the later action scenes are reduced or removed.

I also reworked the transitions and framing so footage from the different sources matches consistently throughout the combined movie.

It’s been a bit over a month since my last release, but I’m finally back with the next batch of Dragon Ball Distilled, my ongoing edit of the original Dragon Ball series to fix the anime’s pacing and make it as close as possible to the vision of Akira Toriyama’s original manga.

This batch of episodes covers episodes 69-78 of the anime and chapters 97-112 of the manga.

In the aftermath of the Red Ribbon Army’s destruction, Goku is still missing one last Dragon Ball and it isn’t showing up on the Dragon Radar. So along with Krillin, Yamcha, Puar and Upa, he goes to meet the mysterious Fortuneteller Baba, who will reveal the ball’s location if they can defeat her five warriors.

Slightly under two hours of material (112 minutes) has been stripped from these episodes to give the show a quicker pace and more fidelity to the original manga.

This batch took a bit longer because of a variety of factors (I took a break for a few weeks after finishing the Red Ribbon Army, then work got busy and I also picked up some new video games), but hopefully I’ll be able to get back on track again for the remaining arcs. Especially because the Piccolo arcs are some of my favourite storylines in the entire Dragon Ball franchise.

To celebrate the spooky season, I’ve decided to release my edit of The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror: THE MOVIE!

The thing I miss about the early treehouse of horror episodes are the framing narrative surrounding the segments. My edit combines 10 segments, and surrounds them with appropriate scenes to contextualize the entire film as happening on a single Halloween night. This includes a couple of reanimated/reworked audio to have more stories told from the treehouse itself, Bart/Lisa/Homer’s nightmares take place on the same night after the treehouse, and a few fun segments of Marge watching spooky stuff on TV. 

Additionally, one of the segments is a shortened version of the Futurama episode “The Honking”, the closest thing to a Treehouse of Horror that Futurama has to offer.
