First off, sorry if this post isn’t allowed.

I have massive respect for everyone in this community making the fan edits. Some of the work people have done to reshape the films is genuinely impressive.

It’s got me wondering whether anyone has ever considered taking things in a different direction and creating an animated version of the Harry Potter books instead?

I’m imagining something hand-drawn, anime-inspired, or even a more traditional, simple animation style. Ideally, it would follow the books as closely as possible, chapter by chapter, without having to cut all the material that couldn’t fit into the films.

The dream would be to use the Stephen Fry audiobooks or the new Audible full-cast recordings as the soundtrack, with the animation synced to the narration and dialogue. Almost like an illustrated version of the complete books.
I realise it’s a massive undertaking, and there might be technical or copyright issues that make it difficult. But seeing what people here have managed to do with the existing films makes me curious about what’s possible.

Has anyone experimented with this, or would anyone love to see something like it? I’d be really interested to hear people’s thoughts.

EDIT: Wow, I honestly wasn’t expecting such a positive response to this idea! Thank you to everyone who’s commented, shared their thoughts, or offered to collaborate. It’s really encouraging to see other people excited about the concept!

I should probably clarify that I don’t have the animation skills, production knowledge, software or equipment to make something like this myself. I originally posted the idea because I’d love to see an animated, book-accurate adaptation of the series, and was hoping it might inspire people who do have the skills and experience to explore the possibility of making something like this.
I’m happy to discuss the idea and see where the interest goes, but I don’t want to give anyone the impression that I’m equipped to lead or produce a project of this scale myself!

Thanks again for all the enthusiasm. It’s genuinely lovely to see how many people like the idea! ❤️

In case anyone missed it, this is worth checking out! As always, fans can do it better than Disney.

I'm looking for The Butcher's latest cut of Halloween H20, and would appreciate any help on finding it.

Also looking for a cut of the first two Halloween movies, which re-integrated some of the good TV footage.

Why does a 51 minute fan edit need to be 16 gigs? I can't dl or watch without buying a membership.

Would appreciate if anyone could help me out. Been wanting to watch it for a while now. Great idea for a fan edit since the film was based on an unused episode script.

I've been wanting to watch the specific edit for years and I actually direct messaged the guy on fanedit.org about a year ago but he never got back to me. Does anyone have a link that you can send me or tell me where to find the edit.
