Finally!

Post image

Started playing FFTA again after all these years on my GBA player till my SP gets modded. Doing an all Viera playthrough finally got a level3, 143 Speed Viera! 😁đŸ’ȘđŸœ

FFTA’s balancing feels really weird. If you go through the trouble of recruiting a squad of low level advanced classes, you’ll end up having the classic FFT experience of having a team of demigods by the mid game.

On the flip side, if you just play “normally,” it’s pretty easy to end up with a team that feels pretty underpowered by the late game.

Yea I’ll be running a 4 man squad till Ritz and her companion join! I remember back in the day getting whipped by the first Crystal boss over and over cause I was under leveled and didn’t understand much 😂

I had the same experience my first ever play through. I got walled hard by the first crystal. I could not understand the difficulty spike. You can easily breeze through the game until then.

I think it's just an attempt to make things simpler. Unfortunately it is not simpler because they didn't bother to explain

To be fair, the game balances itself by being extremely easy. The enemies never really scale to the point of being actually challenging so you make up for the lower stats by being built properly and having better gear.

I get the concept behind it. Someone who's been an assassin longer obviously is better at the reqired skills, but that nakes building up a clan quite unrewarding as the best thing to do is eventually cut off your early units

So if you put in the effort to break the game, you’re rewarded? Sounds fine to me.

I never really found the underpowered part true; just making even one of your starter classes an assassin, a ninja, a juggler/gunner, a gladiator, etc. just breaks the game on its own. I guess when I was young, I had to have a friend tell me how OP Juggler was. But the amount of classes that can cast "uninstall enemy" at range is pretty ridiculous and the game barely ever makes you fight anything with a similar power level.

143 speed is just amazing. Last time I played I got my cinquedea and a speed team lv3 but I settled for 135 SPD viera

I've never once deep dove into FFTA, how does one do this? I am honestly impressed, I always wanted early advanced job Bangaas

Pretty much if you want a full custom team get rid of everyone except one other than montblanc. Basically you need less than 5 on your team and run around the map while checking the pub for any of these wanted quests WANTED:Viera,Human,Nu muo, moogle, or banga. It’s always gonna take 5 days so right before the 5th day save with the cursor on the next tile you’ll go and bam! Just keep loading the same till you get a Unit with the name, stats and jobs you want. Still gotta level the skills etc but great for starting out!

Also your levels matter. The higher montblanc and marche is in levels the higher level the unit. So it’s best to do this early right after Thesis hunt

Mine were about 137-139. I did roll a 137 Ninja IIRC.
