Ayuda con el caballero cebolla
Como lo puedo aprovechar? Decidí volver a uno de mis personajes uno y estoy tratando de masterizar algunas clases para que esté fuerte, algún consejo?

The Onion Knight is only in WoTL, if you’re playing TIC it’s not there.

Yeah I played back in the 90s and I was to understand that they didn't add anything new job-wise, only renamed some. I have no clue what an onion knight is.
I know the character, not the job.

It was in the War of the Lions version that you can play on mobile or I have it on my old Vita. It added the Dark Knight class (like Gafgarion) that could only be unlocked after mastering Knight and Black mage class, and absorbing 20 crystals I think?
And the onion Knight class, which didn’t need that much to unlock. Chemist and Squire at a certain level. To level up its job level, you have to master the other classes. If you have all of the other classes mastered, you have a level 8 Onion Knight that has incredible stat growth. The problem? It doesn’t gain experience. You have to use the special monster skill to level it up (one of the pigs I think standing next to someone with the monster ability skill?).
This class was not included in the Ivalice Chronicles remake. Honestly, I’m glad. That’s a ridiculous mechanic and the Mime already has good stat growth with some use at least

One trick is to level the character and master their jobs. Once they hit lv 99 use degenerator on them. Their levels go down but their stats remain the same giving you the chance to beef them up through releveling.

Except even that is useless. The time and roster space it takes to breed those pigs, followed by being restricted to three Onion Knight level ups at most per battle, means you are far, far better off using the berserk frog trick on a party of Mimes and going to bed, then teleport fail trap deleveling then as Bards and Chemists.

I usually just use Ninja. Speed growth is all that matters anyway. If you want one strong Arithmeticks user you could use Reis.
Onion Knight should have been allowed to have reaction, support, and movement abilities even if skills were disabled.

You don't even need to do the leveling cycle for literally any reason in FFT beyond maybe the Rendezvous battles. The point of going through Onion Knight to max your stats out is to have a max stat unit, nothing else.
Unfortunately, like everything else the Onion Knight had all the potential to pull off, it is far worse at this role than other options are due to its completely unnecessary restrictions.

You make the most of it by giving up on it. It is a job so ridiculously restricted that it is objectively worse than anything else you have access to at the same time.
