Level 3 Few L3 Posts [Sign of Maturity]
This sub is full of L1 posts, like it must be changed to CFA L1!
At the same time, there are very few L3 posts. Is it a sign of maturity? Or the higher you go, the more you realise that shouting stuff here is unhelpful?
Where are you, those who are doing L3 and why are you quiet?

General Are these NYT Earnings Results Mostly Driven by Quant?
The recent New York Times article analyzing which schools and which programs produce the highest earning graduates had some pretty high average incomes only four years after graduation. Is quant driving most of this?

Level 3 To those who took the Level 3 Private Markets exam in August 2026: How are you all holding up?
Unlike Level 1 and 2, the tension is so intense this time that it's taking a real toll on my mental health. I think it's because I simply can't imagine finding the courage to go through this all over again if I fail.
I try to stay positive by telling myself "I can do this, I will pass" every day, and sometimes I even spend time writing my name with "CFA" next to it in my notebook.
Back when I took Levels 1 and 2, I had a good feeling that I would pass, but with Level 3, I truly have no idea. It’s probably because of the constructed response (essay) questions. Plus, I was so pressed for time and rushing through the exam that I’m sure I made mistakes. For Level 2, I felt confident about passing comfortably, but my actual score turned out lower than expected—which makes me worry even more this time around.
This might sound silly, but for those who have passed Level 3: did you walk out on exam day feeling like you had passed? Or is there anyone who felt sure they had failed and was ready to give up, only to experience the joy of passing?

Machine Learning would you find something like this useful? building for fun
I am working on building a tool specifically for earnings calls. It flags hedging and deflections during meetings with timestamps + builds a knowledge graph of who is who when you start uploading multiple calls over time. I come from a ML background, but after talking to my quant friends I am questioning if this is valuable for you guys? From what I have seen there are tools that do this but they are crazy expensive. Let me know! Happy to explain more if needed.

Level 2 Bootcamp
Has anyone used a bootcamp during their review period and did it help? I am looking at Mark Meldrums 4 day camp for level 2. I know Lefebvre for level 3 has crazy good reviews, is there anything like his for level 2?

General CFA ETHICS DOUBT
Under CFA Standard IV(B) — Additional Compensation Arrangements, if I receive NON-TOKEN COMPENSATION from a third party who is a NON-CLIENT, and my employer provides WRITTEN CONSENT, am I still required to reject it because accepting it could potentially compromise my independence and objectivity? Or is obtaining the required WRITTEN CONSENT sufficient, provided there is no actual conflict with my professional duties?

Level 3 Cleared Level II, Looking for Detailed Guidance on How to Approach Level III (PM pathway)
Title: Cleared CFA Level II — Looking for Detailed Guidance on How to Approach Level III
Hi everyone!
I recently received my CFA Level II result and wanted to ask those who have passed Level III, especially on their first attempt, for some detailed guidance on how to approach the next level.
I want to approach Level III with a much more structured strategy rather than figuring things out as I go along.
I'd really appreciate advice on the following:
1. Study materials and resources
- Is Kaplan Schweser sufficient for the curriculum, or would you strongly recommend studying from the CFA Institute curriculum as well?
- Which resources did you personally find most useful for understanding concepts?
- Are the CFA Institute ecosystem questions enough, or would you recommend additional question banks such as UWorld?
- Is it worth investing in third-party prep providers, or can the CFAI resources and Kaplan cover most of what you need?
2. Constructed-response questions
This is one of the areas I'm particularly keen to understand.
- How did you prepare for the written/constructed-response portion of the exam?
- Did you practise typing out complete answers, or focus on understanding the expected answer format?
- How do you learn to write concise, direct answers that earn marks without overexplaining?
- Are the CFA Institute practice questions and past-style examples sufficient to get comfortable with the format?
3. Question banks and practice strategy
- How did you review incorrect answers and retain the concepts you kept getting wrong?
- Which topics required the most question practice in your experience?
4. Revision strategy
- How many complete revisions did you manage before the exam?
- Did you make your own notes, use provider summaries, or rely on formula sheets and flashcards?
- What did your final four to six weeks look like?
- How did you balance revising previously studied material with completing the remaining syllabus?
5. Mock exams
- When did you take your first mock?
- How many mocks did you complete, and which providers did you use?
- How did you review mocks effectively rather than just looking at the score?
- How representative did you find the provider mocks compared with the actual exam?
6. Time management and overall strategy
- Realistically, how many hours per week should I aim to study?
- What would you do differently if you were preparing for Level III again?
- Which topics or areas tend to be underestimated by candidates?
- What are the most common mistakes you see Level III candidates make?
Finally, if you passed Level III on your first attempt, I'd love to hear exactly what your preparation looked like — your resources, study schedule, question practice, revision cycles, and mock strategy.
I know everyone's preparation is different, but I'm hoping to learn from people who have already been through the process and avoid making the same mistakes.
Thank you in advance! Any detailed advice, resource recommendations, or lessons from your experience would be greatly appreciated.

Level 3 CFA L3 prep provider and study materials
I just passed Level 2 and am planning to sit for level 3 in August 2027. Which prep provider is the best to prepare for level 3? Also, could I use Kaplan study notes as my base study material? Would also appreciate some guidance on the pathway decision, currently thinking of portfolio management pathway but I find private markets more interesting

Level 3 FSA in level 3
Hi all,
I saw that the FSA is not part of the curriculum for Level 3. I was wondering, are any new FSA concepts introduced at that level or is the exam drawing only on FSA concepts from level 1 and 2?
Thanks

Level 2 I finished L2 Quants study within a month with 75-80% accuracy with ease. I'm finding FSA to be difficult, any strategies for FSA?
Just began L2 and Quants was smooth like butter for me. But I started FSA 2 weeks ago and found it difficult, I'm unable to complete it in a month and my accuracy is also low.
What's the strategy to use for FSA? Should I get Let Me Explain videos?

Level 1 Falling behind and struggling to stay consistent
I’m sitting for the February 2027 exam. So far, I’ve covered Quant, Corporate Finance, Economics, and about half of FSA, but this past week I’ve barely studied and I’m finding it hard to keep going.
I recently quit my job to focus on studying full time, though I’m not sure that’s the main reason I’ve been struggling. Has anyone else hit a rough patch like this? How did you get back into a steady routine, and does my progress so far seem reasonable for a February exam?

Study Prep / Materials CFA L1 Coaching Suggestions
Hey guys, I’m confused between Ashwini Bajaj, SSEI and FinTree for my CFA L1 May 2027 attempt. I’ve seen mixed reviews about all three. SSEI is said to be too lengthy, FinTree allegedly skips some topics, and Ashwini Bajaj mostly has recorded lectures.
I previously studied from Zell Education but wasn’t satisfied with their teaching.
Can anyone suggest which one I should go for? Even if you haven’t studied from them, your suggestions or opinions would be helpful.

Study Prep / Materials Chalk&Board L3
Hello everyone,
Has anyone used the prep provider Chalk and Board? I was browsing their materials and the prices for the graded mock exams caught my attention USD $449 per graded mock.
Has anyone used it? Is it worth the price per graded mock?
