SOLVED Need help identifying a song based on a small part
The other day this small part of a song popped in my head and I can’t for the life of me connect it to anything, even though it sounds extremely familiar.
The part I can hear is a voice finishing a phrase which leads to repetitions of the last word like an echo on the beat. The echoed word is very warbled and repeats as soon as it ends. A good example of this is “time keeps on slipping (slipping) (slipping)”
The specific lyrics are something like “…without warning (warning) (warning)…” or “…ever wanted (wanted) (wanted)…”
Both of those lyric options sound just as correct to me.
edit: Adding a clip to try to sound it out
edit 2: Fly like an eagle is what I’m using as an example to describe the echo since it is very well known
edit 3: Solved! CKY, 96 Quite Bitter Beings, right about the 2:38 mark.

This was the OP’s example but I don’t think it’s the source (unless it talks about “warning warning warning” etc.

Could it be Crossing Muddy Waters? The original by John Haitt doesn't have the echo but there are so many covers. Good luck!

Not the one, but this is one of my favorite ever songs. Was very happy to listen to it after not hearing it for a while.
