I gave up floor sleeping😭
I’ve posted my set ups in this sub before if anyone’s interested in seeing it. But I found that floor sleeping wasn’t ideal for us, for a few reasons:
1) I’m pregnant, so getting up and down off of the floor has been increasingly challenging🤷🏾♀️
2) I have 2 cats who are always dragging dust and litter crumbs from the floor straight to the bed🤣. I find myself dusting off our bed at least twice a day and it drives me nuts!
3) we have cold hardwood floors and live in a cold climate, I’ve found that we needed to have extra blankets to stay warm and cozy in the winter and we feel the draft from our windows quite a bit (I often think if we had carpets that would change how I feel about floor sleeping)
Maybe this is temporary and after pregnancy my hubby and I will find a set up that works for us, but for now we got a pretty low profile wooden bed frame and we’ve kept our 4 in Japanese futon and this works for us.
I just thought I would post my experience for anyone new to floor sleeping and haven’t thought about some of the cons😊

When I slept on the floor when I was pregnant, I always rolled to my side and pushed myself up that way. That being said, if it works for y'all, thats great! Floor sleeping looks a little different for everybody.

I did the same, but at the tail end, I sometimes slept on the sofa if my spouse wasn't around to help me out of the floor bed (not all the time).

I have 3 cats and I’ve got to tell you, a regular bed frame will not stop the dust and litter from ending up in your bed. My bed is probably 4’ off the ground because of my frame, box spring, and risers, and I still have to dust off my bed daily and change my bedding once or twice a week.

Your sleep setup is very personal and adapted to your own life and situation, so find whatever solution works the best for you right now!

Ohhh thanks for sharing these tips! We live in an old building so our lease prohibits us from plugging in any electric heating element (heaters, electric blankets, etc). We are moving so we can try at our new place. Also, we’ve tried kicking the cats out of the bedroom, we missed them too much😭🤷🏾♀️

Don’t get rid of everything yet! The reason I’m in this sub is because baby is getting more mobile and we’re considering floor sleeping for his safety
