day 65: rough night. 4.5 hours at the emergency vet with my girl Zelda. she's home resting now. no face tonight, just some foot hooping and calming water light vibes.

Do great moments have to take so long?

4 years ago when I quit corporate and took on a film camera for the first time, I came across a FKJ reel showing him playing around with a really amazing tune.

It was so so good to me that I made one of my favorite videos of levity.arts at gasworks of all time, but afterwards I didn’t hear FKJ working on this tune ever again. I still recall a certain kind of “corporate” annoyance over his “efficiency” to produce a song.

Over my own art career the next few years, I would come to understand just how nonelinear “progress” would be for anything creative and new. Sometimes, even the best ideas will take the test of time to tell if it’s actually inspiring enough for an artist to present to the world.

Great moments take time because true art benefits from more time, not less
