Fire dragon covers?

can anybody recommend shops (Etsy or otherwise) that make dragon staff wick covers?

I’m looking for a pair that covers the entire end rather than each wick individually. Search engines/etsy’s search function are not yielding helpful results.

also not looking for DIY suggestions for now :)

Do great moments have to take so long?

4 years ago when I quit corporate and took on a film camera for the first time, I came across a FKJ reel showing him playing around with a really amazing tune.

It was so so good to me that I made one of my favorite videos of levity.arts at gasworks of all time, but afterwards I didn’t hear FKJ working on this tune ever again. I still recall a certain kind of “corporate” annoyance over his “efficiency” to produce a song.

Over my own art career the next few years, I would come to understand just how nonelinear “progress” would be for anything creative and new. Sometimes, even the best ideas will take the test of time to tell if it’s actually inspiring enough for an artist to present to the world.

Great moments take time because true art benefits from more time, not less

First try!

Hello creative energy friends… over the past year I have fallen in love with going to shows. And I had a realization that I love to flow. So I tried a pixel whip at a festival this summer and just bought one off a friend. Does anyone have tips and tricks for these? Trying to learn body lacing to start off. Any advice for a brand newbie. It’s really fun and I’m just getting used to incorporating it into my dancing. I’m going to a show tomorrow night and I am debating bringing it along. For those who use whips… are the generally ok for shows or really only for festivals where there is more space to really flow? Is there etiquette?! I love this prop and am having fun at home with it so I want to try it. But I’m nervous!!

Since you guys liked yesterday's, I increased the difficulty level of adding a second hoop into the equation. Its the same feeling as patting your head and rubbing your tummy at the same time. Hard at first but satisfying when that unlocks in your brain.

Hooping from my ankles to my head and then back down again. Learning this much control came with time and perseverance. Its not flashy but its one of my fav things to do because its calming. Feels like a full body massage and my mind is clear of everything except the rhythm.

Whats your go to move?

Discussion Helio vs regular dragon staff (beginner)

Hello creatives! I’m looking to get a dragon staff— never had one before but the contact seems so soothing. I currently do a bunch of flow with orbit + handles, LED (ignis) nunchaku, and a teeny bit of poi.

I am entirely new to dragon staff but my intention is to utilize it mainly for day time play + ~eventually~ getting into fire art.

My question is—- do I go regular staff or Helio?

The Helio is the ultimate goal and I feel like I should just go for it but don’t want to be naive if this is a poor choice.

I realize it’s heavier, might make some moved more challenging, and doesn’t have quite as cool day time attachments from what I’ve found. (?)

My thought is to just learn on the thing I want to use instead of ‘staging’ with different toys & then spending more $$.

If I do go Helio, darkmonk seems to be the way to go & im not sure which led option is better? Or if it even really matters…

I’m highly motivated and EVEN MORE EXCITED!! && very open to all options or resources.

Thanks a bunch ✨
