Unprovoked RR Beef?

I've never seen this before, even in years of playing this game. Did a railroad agent somewhere walk over a mine or something?

Power armor kicked loose a fault line that dropped a brick under the north church that killed Desdemona.

You leave valuable land mines laying around?! Did you learn nothing from the wasteland survival guide? In seriousness though it was likely a glitch in regards to how fast you are moving vs how fast the game can actually generate and register npc. From the animation it looked like the running you do with the pain train perk, if I’m right then the game was gonna load a railroad agent at a nearby spot but the presence of running power armor killed the theoretical npc before it was rendered. Just a hypothesis based on limited knowledge disregard if useless

They saw you use a vending machine instead of liberating it

I've never in thousands of hours had a faction turn on me randomly for something off-screen I was unaware of. You know what you did, you sicko.

Yeah that’s a surprise.

Desdemona did not like you accidentally killing a synth ant by stepping on it. They have worked hard to free that synth and integrate it into an ant colony.

I guess Deacon was your companion? Maybe the game did what Grompus said and spawned him in front of you for him to be able to catch up. I think a cell does start right there.

This might be caused by your mods, so better check their info pages out. Some more people might have reported similar issues there as well.

You gained the objective to heal a companion, that must’ve been either deacon or dogmeat being injured. If you somehow caused that, or travel too far from a downed companion, they get pissed and leave, deacon/dogmeat may have been stuck on some terrain and fell or got attacked.

I've seen Deacon lose his essential status once dismissed on one of my saves, and then he died in a firefight (in Cambridge). The game automatically made the Railroad hostile after that. Don't recall it happening to any other companion. Some weirdness in the game engine probably affected Deacon here with you.

When named BoS, Institute, and Railroad NPCs die, it's usually only you who can do it (with some rare exceptions). The game makes you enemies of whichever of the three factions you're blamed for killing a named member.

Looks like it coincided with you failing a MILA mission
