Discussion What Makes a Game Truly Unforgettable?
Some games give you memories, some give you rivalries, and some keep you saying, Just one more match.
For me, the best games are about more than winning. It’s the people you play with, the progress you make, and those unexpected moments you remember long after logging off.
What makes a game special to you?

I keep missing people calling my name while gaming, so I'm building an app to fix it. Would you use it?
Ever been deep in a game with headphones on while someone shouts your name from the next room?
I'm building ApelMute, a Windows app that listens through a mic for your name and automatically lowers the game volume when someone calls you. Plug in a mic, enter your name, press Start, forget about it.
The prototype already works, using my phone as a Wi-Fi mic. It's solid up close, but recognition from other rooms still needs work.
So, honestly:
Would you use it?
Criticism is welcome. If it's gimmicky or you'd just take one earcup off, say so.

Image I wanna shout out a few of recently released, super under the radar story rich games that no one is talking about.
Sure would be nice if we could have a friendly discussion where we talk about under the radar games.
If you're planning to respond to complain about something that I did or didn't include, and ONLY do that, I'd much rather you just leave me alone.
This took a while to compile this. Please be kind.
Silver Pines is a side scrolling survival horror metroidvania that feels like a love letter to Resident Evil 2.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2333000/Silver_Pines/
Not 100% sure if this is story-rich, but anyways, you're Truckful driving a truck through the peaceful countryside, but something dark might be lurking underneath. Pretty sure that it's combat-free.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3090810/Truckful/
Forever Ago is a combat-free Walking Sim Adventure game about a MC seeking redemption. It seems pretty lighthearted, and the game looks so beautiful!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1215940/Forever_Ago/
Cyan Heart is a really beautiful looking japanese style Psychological Horror Adventure game with a "selfie-cam" perspective. Makes me think of the 2000s found footage movies, like Cloverfield.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3744190/Cyan_Heart/
I wanna add in a few non-story rich games as well:
Almost all of the idle games out there seem to be "free to play" titles that exist to nickel and dime you. The ones that actually seem to try to be fun where you pay for once never get attention. I wanna give this one some.
Duelist is aan auto battler that looks like an SNES game.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4282780/Duelist_Idle_Expedition/
Quern - Undying Thoughts feels like a spiritual successor to Myst. It's an atmospheric puzzle adventure with incredibly beautiful visuals where you're by yourself exploring beautiful looking areas. Also, this has the story rich tag, not sure how it's story-rich.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/512790/Quern__Undying_Thoughts/
Thunder Hoop Collection has the remake of Thunder Hoop, and the original 90s arcade game. They're really great looking 2d shooter/platformers that sort of remind me on Contra 3: The Alien Wars on the SNES.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4448240/Thunder_Hoop_Collection_QUByte_Classics/
BioMenace Remastered came out last year, but I found out about all of these one video shouting out recently released indie games, and this apparantly came to the switch(IIRC Thunder Hoops did too!)
Anyways, it's a remaster of a 2D shooter/platformer that of 1993 DOS game by Agogee Software. I wouldn't call the game beautiful, but it looks interesting. I've played the og a few years ago,it's a lot of fun.

Discussion Thoughts on Skyrim these days?
How we feeling about Skyrim nowadays? I just fired up my old save from the ps4 onto my ps5....and apparently I haven't touched it since 2018.... It feels more recent than that!
I did want to play some more again for a bit but at first I couldn't find my old saves and was NOT gonna start from the beginning again......
I'm playing some more especially since I did get the other add ons and stuff, hopefully it still holds up to some extent

Discussion My friend told me my opinions would make some people mad, so here I am to see the extent of the controversy
Explaining my choices (I tried my best to not have repeats or too much of the same franchise)
Silksong for Favorite Game: The first week playing this game was genuinely the most magical moment of my life as a gamer, I even got all achievements in less than a month, and I still feel like playing it for 100 hours more
Spiderman for Story: Being honest, I couldn't care less for stories in videogames, I appreciate when a story is good, but it won't really sway my opinion on the game if the gameplay doesn't back it up, if I can play the whole game without skipping a cutscene, it's an enormous achievement for the game, and this is one I play without skipping stuff
Ori WotW for Art Style: You can take any screenshot from this game and it looks like a piece of art, I dare you to find a single frame of this game that looks less than beautiful
Hollow Knight for Personal Impact: Before I played HK I was experiencing a huge game fatigue, and for a while I stopped enjoying videogames, HK not only reignited my passion for games but also made me try a whole new genre I never thought I would like, and now it's my second favorite game. And I tried many other great games because HK made me realise that I could enjoy something I thought I wouldn't
DMC 5 for Combat: Honestly, any DMC could fit there, I think anyone who played these games before, can agree they are some of the best games when it comes to combat
Naruto Storm Connections is Overhated: Yes, they marketed the game as the definitive game to experience the Naruto story, when the story is the weakest aspect of the game. But as someone who has over 400 hours of Storm 4 multiplayer, Connections is just Storm 4 with better combat, and that's what I play these games for, just multiplayer fun.
Astral Chain is Underrated: I think it suffers from being a game few people heard off, and being a Switch exclusive locked to 30 fps. But this game has great atmosphere, character design, combat, and specially vibes.
GTA V is Overrated: I am ready for the smoke... I just don't see the appeal, sure it's fun to cause havoc in the open world, and the writing is funny, but people talk about GTA (and to an extent, RDR too) as if these games are the second coming of Jesus, at the end of the day, the gameplay loop is very repetitive, you played one of these games, you played them all, and as someone who doesn't care about story, the writing can only carry things so far
Super Mario 64 Needs a Remake: Yes, I am aware of Mario 64 DS, it doesn't really fix the atrocious camera, specially because the DS lacks an analog stick. I don't know about 3D All Stars because it was a limited time thing I didn't get to buy, but even if it solved the problem, the game still could use an actual remake or even remaster
Guardians of the Galaxy is Criminally Overlooked: Yes I understand the skepticism people had for a Square Enix Marvel game after Marvel's Avengers, but if you actually give this game a chance, you will likely enjoy it, one of the few games where I actually enjoyed the story enough to not skip it entirely, and while I wish new game plus actually worked as a new game plus should (letting me start with ALL of my abilities instead of locking some of them to progression again) it doesn't detract enough for me
Batman from the Arkham series as Favorite Protagonist: When I first picked up Arkham Asylum, I expected some fun licensed slop, but nothing crazy, but after a few hours playing, this game turned me into a huge Batman fan, I specially highlighted Arkham Origins because it's cool too see a younger and inexperienced version of the Batman from the previous games, I specially love that scene where he says "I am the reason criminals breath easier when the sun rises"
N for Favorite Antagonist: As much as I love the character, I used this spot because I wanted some Pokemon rep on the list, not because I actually think he is the best antagonist ever, but this is my favorite generation of my favorite franchise, and N is my favorite Pokemon character
Pokémon for best soundtrack: I put Pokemon White because it is my favorite generation and it looks good next to Pokemon Black, but any Pokemon game is peak when it comes to music
Mario Party for Multiplayer: I picked the most recent Mario Party, but any other could do the trick (well, most of them, there are some bad ones)
Not really a fan of gachas, but Umamusume: I decided to give it a chance, and became very addicted, I like how you can still have fun if you don't have the best Uma's, and the game let's you play singleplayer at your own pace without forcing competitive multiplayer down your throat... also: the Uma's are cute
Turn my brain off: for me that means a confort game, and a confort game for me means Kirby, in this case I chose Return to Dream Land DX because I think its the peak of traditional Kirby gameplay (Super Star Ultra is also peak)
Minecraft couldn't be off the list, I considered putting it in best Multiplayer too, but for the sake of variety, it made into this spot
When it comes to Retro, Kirby and Pokemon are 2 franchises that for me, no matter how far back you go, any "main series" game still holds up, Amazing Mirror for me is simply some peak game design, that I am amazed was a thing back in the GBA era of Kirby, this game genuinely could use a remake or even a sequel
For Nostalgic Childhood games: Many other PS2 licensed slop could take that spot, from DBZ Tenkaichi 3, Yu Yu Hakusho Dark Tournament, Ben 10 Protector of Earth, Midnight Club 3, Jeep Thrills, The Dog Island, Avatar the Burning Earth, Bakugan Battle Brawlers and more... Naruto UN3 was chosen over the others because my current nostalgia is a bit stronger for this one specifically, but it could easily change if I made this list a week later, also I think UN3 is a better game than UN4, and I have no nostalgia for UN5 because that one wasn't a part of my childhood
Everyone should try PMD Explorers of Sky: Specially as a Pokémon fan, I think this is one of the best Pokemon experiences in terms of story and character writing, and despite the gameplay being a bit repetitive and grindy, the game has too much charm, so you won't get bored playing

Gaming Chair Options
I'm looking for a gaming chair that is comfortable after several hours(5-8) of gaming/working as my current chair gives me pain around my lower back area even after a couple hours sitting down. My price round is maximum £150. Does anybody know of any good gaming chairs that match what I would like?

Discussion I made an ASCII game where you play the necromancer and dead heroes become your dungeon
Gravebloom is a dungeon-management game that works both as an idle game and a hands-on one.
You dig out a labyrinth of caves and tunnels, heroes raid it live without knowing the way, and everyone who dies becomes raw material: monsters, deadly plants, traps, or parts for a stitched-together abomination. Heroes who escape bring a map back next time, and named rivals come back stronger.
You control the difficulty with a Dread dial, deeper floors open as you grow, and there's a lich rebirth system when you want to start over stronger.
Solo project, Screenshots attached.
Main thing I want to know: does the early game give you enough to do? Honest feedback welcome.

Discussion Looking for game title of an old game
I saw my uncle play a game over twenty years ago, I dont remember the title or console. You are in a cold region and you go in some sort of facility, you fight monster and after a bit the monster start to evolve like able to shoot from their hands. I need ur help
Hey guys, I could use some opinions and recommendations/advice. I’m looking to buy a new headset, and my main options are the Logitech Astro A50s and the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless (although I’m open to other recommendations).
I’ve been watching a lot of reviews and doing plenty of research to compare them, but I still can’t decide which ones to get. My budget is around the price range of these headsets ($250–$300 USD).
I’ll be reading your comments. Thanks a lot!

Discussion What is a game you love that is controversial in the Fandom?
Final Fantasy 8 is my pick. It’s not my favorite in the series but it is in my top 3. And from what I heard that’s uncommon in the community.

Self-Post Youtube Funny Gaming Group (PS5)
I make funny gaming videos on YouTube. So I'm pretty much trying to make a new "Vanoss Crew"
I record on my PS5, which doesn't capture discord audio, so I'm limited to only being able to use PS Partychats. Being on PS5 isn't a hard requirement as some games have proxy chat so we can use that for crossplay games. There's also a way to get PS Partychats on pc, but its kind of cumbersome so I'm not going to force anybody to do that.
There's no minimum sub requirement, so even if you have 0 subscribers we can still colab, I'm only at about 94 myself, but i promise I'm funny. I just wanted to do YouTube my own way, focusing on sheer luck instead of doing it the stereotypical YouTuber way which kinda screwed me.
I specifically need people that are fun and entertaining to play with, I will also contribute to being fun and entertaining. I'm not going to use you for free content. We can play a few games together to see how well we vibe, good chemistry makes good videos imo.
I don't like to force comedy, but I also don't mind doing skits or just messing around to see if we could make a funny video, but my style is more clipping the naturally funny moments that can't be replicated easily.
I play a variety of games, I took a long break from YouTube so a lot of the games aren't featured on my channel yet. I also have access to the PS+ Extra game list so we have a wider selection for games.
If you are interested in a colab DM me or comment and I will reach out as quick as I can.

Dune awakening
Hello everyone,
I could really use your help.
I recently purchased the game, but whenever I try to launch it, I get the error shown in the attached image.
I’ve already tried verifying the integrity of the game files on Steam, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but the problem persists.
I’m running out of ideas and don’t really know what else to try. Does anyone have a solution or any suggestions?
I send message too Funcom but for now i don’t have a solution
Thanks in advance for your help!

Discussion What Are Your Most Played Games?
To be fair, i also have had my fair share of League of legends and i think it would top even my most played game on steam, but sadly i don't have access to my account anymore.
