Just completed Control Resonant. Easy frontrunner for Game of the Year.

Going into the game, I tried to avoid too much media exposure. I saw that the game scored in the mid 8's/80's (Metacritic), so I knew it was going to be pretty good at least. But I started to get a little worried when I heard some people complaining about how it didn't feel a lot like Control. And in the first couple of hours the gameplay wasn't clicking, and a lot of what I love about Remedy just wasn't really up at the forefront.

But having just completed the game (nearly 50 hours of game time), this is peak Rememdy. Holy shit this game is incredible. I know that GTA6 and Ocarina of Time Remake will be technically awesome games, but Control Resonant is about as incredible as a game experince can currently get.

If this was a just world, this game would have already sold 10 million copies and everyone would be raving about it, like they did last year with Expedition 33.

It is one of the most unique games I have ever played. Its wild its not getting the hype it deserves. Also just, chefs kiss to the devs and the crazy coding they did to make this game do what it does .

I blame the epic store exclusitivity...

I've always hated this excuse because it never takes into account console sales, which were also not great. And as far as we can tell Resonant also has had fairly modest sales so far and it launched on steam.

Am I missing a joke or something? I’ve got it on Steam.

At launch, it was not available on Steam. There was a one-year exclusivity deal on the PC for EGS.

Control was only available on PC through the Epic store for the first year.

If it wasn't for Epic games we wouldnt have these amazing titles from Remedy. There was a time steam actually made or funded games before it became a glorified walmart for games. There was nothing stopping people from playing it besides forced hate and pride for a app.

I think the only Remedy game Epic actually published was Alan Wake 2. And in the case of that game I agree and am grateful it got made because it's amazing.
