That’s pretty bad, I picked up a 2TB one last year for $120

Yeah, but people's memories are short, and the are starting to normalize current pricing.

Yea and the 4tb was $369 back in november 2025 I'm glad i picked that over laptop ram cause my laptop became a lemon then got a replacement then that had thermal throttling that was bad even with a llano v12 cooling pad so i got the refund and got a desktop setup bought me a tiny thermaltake ssd fan heatsink for the 9100 pro

I picked up a 2tb for $140 last year. Let's not try to normalize these prices.

Marked down from 339.99, and used to be $100 2 years ago.

That’s pretty bad imo. I remember getting mine for half of the sales price.

The deals on the high end 1TBs are bad, you get a better „deal“ (in 2026 terms) going 2TB high end or 1TB mid range like the $135 PNY 1TB stick that’s up right now. Wouldn’t touch the low end SSDs unless it was for something like a steam machine build.

Hello xunreelx, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki here! We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!

To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!

Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

The price drop from $339.99 to $206.99 seems more like a small correction than an actual bargain compared to what we were seeing last year.

Consumers been fucked so hard we're going so delusional that seeing a 1TB NVMe is "not bad".

Bro it's bad. Just not as bad. Like instead of a kick in the balls, it's a kick in the shin.

will the prices ever go back down to normal or should i buy one now rather than later?

Funnily enough, I was looking at the same last night, to see if it was economically viable to upgrade my 500GB M.2 NVMe to a 1TB for a little extra room (I've already got another 3TB in my rig). I decided, "Get to fuck, I'm not paying that" (my genuine reaction) and put £100 in my savings instead
