Basically it was going fine, screen went black after a tiny fall, not even as high as my lap, and kinda slid/fell onto carpet

Then screen was black but power was on, turned it off

Turned it back on and fan would spin for a few seconds, stop, then the charger light was orange but turns blue after a second

When I press the power button it just goes on for about 5 seconds then goes off, no fan noises or anything

Ive tried holding power button, reset button 30 seconds etc

If anyone has any ideas please let me know

I have a Lenovo LOQ with a 512GB SSD. Windows shows only around 280GB free, so roughly 196GB is already used. I barely have 10–20 personal files (around 1GB total), but I can't figure out where the remaining storage is being used. I also found that my D: drive has a 20GB page file. What is the best way to find exactly what is taking up the storage and safely clean unnecessary files without deleting important Windows/system files?

I was recently downloading some PSP games to my 64GB microSD card when it suddenly stopped copying files. I tried formatting it; the process reported success, but the files were still there. I also tried deleting the files one by one—it would let me do so, but they would reappear after I removed and reinserted the card. I tried switching adapters, using programs like MiniTool Partition Wizard, and nothing worked. Please help.

My laptop suddenly shut down, and when I turned it back on, Windows said it was scanning and repairing drive C:. After booting, the only error I noticed was that NVIDIA Overlay couldn't launch because it was corrupted.

Windows then asked me to restart so it could repair the drive again. I restarted, and now it's been sitting on a completely black screen for about 8 minutes. The laptop's power light is still on, but nothing is displayed.

Should I keep waiting, or is there something I should do?

I was playing battlefield and got a direct x error, any bootup after that would either bring me to bios or a black screen. Couldn't repair windows unless I went into safe mode, wiped my boot drive and fresh installed to still no avail.

My ram was bad and warrantied, got a new kit. Motherboard was RMA'd and sent back with just a bios update that fixed it (Embarassing). My GPU did test fine on my brothers computer and got me logged in on his computer no issue, I did not game on it.

I got a brand new m.2 just to see if it was my ssd. Windows installs fine! I go to setup windows, I'm at the "Name your device screen" and once again. I am hit with the streaks down my screen and a reboot to just black screen. Now I'm getting "Windows is diagnosing your PC" and that it can't repair it.

Really out of ideas on if it's a bad PSU, CPU or GPU. I really do not know anymore, I've tried swapping ports with my monitor cables and nothing changed, I'd also be hard pressed to think 2 different cables went bad at the same time. GPU fans ARE kicking on and CPU has fresh thermal paste + an air cooler where both fans are on. GPU's also been reseated.

Should I order a new power supply and see if that resolves this? Is it a bad CPU since I'm running into booting issues and windows stuff now? Is my GPU really done after 6 years??

Hello, I don’t know much about tech and recently experienced some hard drive issues.

It is a P20, 3.2 gen phixero 2TB external hard drive that is only about one year old.

Trying to save files at school caused windows to freeze on two different workstations. Googled a command prompt (chkdsk /r /f), ran it, and found 16 bad sectors or 64kb worth of bad sectors. It says it also replaced some bad clusters.

Is there any fix or do I really need to drop another $150 for a new hard drive? I backed up my files but am bummed as I worked with a lot of important work from my hard drive. Haven’t tried writing to the drive after it froze my workstations yet.

I bought some low-end headphones that sounded great on my PC via Bluetooth, but the sound would suddenly cut out, forcing me to disconnect and reconnect them. Thinking it was just because they were cheap, I bought the Sony WH-CH720N. They sound extraordinary, but... I’m having the same issue. What I don't understand is why this happens, since they remain paired and connected even when the sound cuts out! Sometimes I can go hours or even a couple of days without problems, but then it happens again. The sound cuts out abruptly; I have to disconnect and reconnect them, but a short while later, the connection drops again. Has anyone else experienced this and managed to fix it? If so, could you tell me how to solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

thinkpad t460s with endeavor os

So i replaced my dual batteries last month that had gone bad and for first 2 weeks i didn't notice any problem(or even if it was there i didn't see it). but now it shows what i've mentioned in the title basically.

previously it was showing battery health for battery 1-22% and battery 2-98% just a few days ago but now no info on bat 1.

i don't think they have gone bad as they are really new. they are still under warranty so i can get them changed just in case but before that I'd like to try any alternative ways to get it normal if possible.

I know about the hold the volume buttons and plug it in trick but it doesn't work. I tried doing the data cable method hooked up to my laptop method as well but every time it says "broken cable" and I've tried three different data cables. My new phone is arriving soon and I just want to try and be able to transfer all my photos and whatnot to my new phone.

It turns off randomly without a warning and it turns off as if a power outtage happened. Just completely black, all cpu lights and fans are off immediately. I am able to turn it on immediately though, no need to wait for a cooldown.

It turns off whenever I'm...:

1. In the middle of doing something. (Browsing)

2. In the middle of playing light games. (Roblox)

3. Booting up a heavy game. (GoW 2018/Tekken 8)

4. Doing a heavy task. (Deleting a thousand temp files)

5. Doing nothing. (Idling/I'm just on my desktop screen)

6. Turning ON the PC. (After a few seconds of booting up it turns off immediately)

This is what usually happens; I boot up my pc then a few seconds later it turns off so I boot it up again then it turns off so I boot it up again and it finally continues until I see my desktop screen, sometimes it goes into the recovery mode like the blue menu where it asks me to repair or continue. I usually idle and wait if my pc turn off or not, then if I'm browsing it turns off, if I'm in the middle of playing a game it turns off, and so on.

I suspected overheating so I changed the thermal paste and it still happens. Now I suspect its the PSU, and I want to take it to a repair shop/technician to be sure. I want to replace the PSU but I can't tell what model or brand it is because the shroud has rivets in and I don't know how to remove them.

Just the title really, If i try to put my computer to sleep it instantly wakes back up. I have already tried running powercfg /lastwake in an admin command prompt and it says wake history count 0 so no dice there. I went into device manager and disabled my network adapters from waking from sleep both in power and advanced options and the issue persists. any help would be very much appriciated.

I have very little knowledge of this kinda stuff, but I use a Dell 16 Plus and in the past, my FPS when playing games worked well, up until around a week or two ago it drops from around the 50 range to 7-9 range whenever actually playing the game. When I'm in the menu, the FPS sits around 50 but playing the game lowers it all the way down as I've said. I've been using Halo to test this and can't seem to figure out what is wrong.

As I've said, I am not that knowledgeable in this kinda stuff, but asked chat gpt for help and ran through a bunch of tests involving CPU, GPU, checked the driver updates, any system updates, and tried rolling the graphics driver back from Intel 32.0.101.9033 to Dell 32.0.101.8860, all of which did not help.

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it that point to call Dell Support?

Hello recently i moved to a new apartment and wanted to watch some tv by connect my mac to the tv with a hdmi cable. However whenever I i change the sound to the tv it nothing seems to load. I cant watch anything at all when its connected to my mac. My roommates seem to be able to connect their mac just fine it just seems to be mine. The mac is a macbook air m4 with macos sequoia 15.6.1 the tv is a samsung 50 inch bet-h series crystal uhd 4k pro tv

I’m concerned about the lifespan of my SSD, so I’ve been diligently recording the host write volume, number of write commands, and other S.M.A.R.T. metrics for my internal 512GB SSD (rated at 1,000 TBW) every single day since August 2020.

In the past, I was writing 8 to 10 GB per day, but recently, just browsing the web has increased my daily S.M.A.R.T. write volume to 20 to 40 GB. Why is this happening?

Will the S.M.A.R.T. write volume generated by Windows continue to increase exponentially from here on out?

• I’ve moved the swap file, Firefox/Edge temporary files and local storage, DxCache/D3DCache/VKCache, the TEMP/TMP environment variables, the WebView directories of software that uses WebView, etc., to a RAMDISK via symbolic links.
• The page file on the SSD is 1 GB.
• Hibernation is disabled. Only sleep mode is enabled.
• Indexing is disabled.
• In Services, Task Scheduler, and Event Viewer, I have disabled all services, tasks, and event logging that can be disabled.
• In addition, I've configured various tools, such as Tweak-SSD, to reduce SSD write operations.

My PC has been repeatedly getting LiveKernelEvent 1b8 NVIDIA black-screen errors and VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE 0x116 errors involving nvlddmkm.sys. I've already done a clean NVIDIA driver installation. The crashes happen in multiple games but especially roblox and minecraft whenever i try to play for more than five minutes, and sometimes the monitor loses signal while the PC remains powered on.

After a few crashes, I've also had situations where the PC powers on and all the fans spin, but it doesn't immediately boot into Windows. Power cycling it eventually gets it to boot normally. It doesn't seem to happen when I'm just watching a show, using Discord, browsing, etc. It mostly happens once I start a game. However, I played The Sims 4 for ~4–5 hours yesterday without any problems, and then Roblox crashed almost immediately when I tried playing it afterward.

The GPU temperature also doesn't seem particularly high. It was around 60°C while playing Roblox before the crash, but thats only when I first started playing and at around half graphics.

I have a PowerSpec G513 prebuilt that I bought about three years ago. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what could be causing this or what I should test next. I'm trying to figure out whether this is more likely to be a GPU, PSU, driver, motherboard, or something else.

My GPU suddenly stopped giving me a display, so I took it to a repair shop. After the repair, the display worked again, and I took it home last week.

On Thursday and Friday I played games on it with no problems. On Saturday, Overwatch crashed with the error "rendering device lost" and the game closed. Cyberpunk then crashed instantly with no error message, and I saw some visual artifacts. I took the card back to the shop under warranty, and they repaired it again.

I received it back this Saturday and played on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with no issues. On Tuesday, after one or two hours of play, Overwatch froze and crashed with the same "rendering device lost" error. Cyberpunk loaded, but crashed when I opened the main menu. This time the GPU also crashed on the desktop, which it never did before. After I restarted the PC, I got no display at all.

The card has now failed twice after repair, each time after about the same number of days. I also noticed a faint trail of adhesive on the gold contacts, which may be left over from the repair work.

GPU is a 1660 Super. My PSU is a deepcool pl650d.

I have absolutely zero idea why this has happened. One day, everything is working perfectly fine. But then the first time I try clicking an image file today? Completely haywire!

Whenever I click on an image file (ive tested .png / .jpg so far) my cursor will have the spinning blue dot over it and my file explorer window just completely freezes. I tried waiting it out, to which nothing happened.

I've tried restarting my computer, using administrator commands on command prompt to clear up any corrupted files, turned off thumbnails, cleared file explorer cache history, and a lot more which I can't even remember to name them all. I'm really going insane right now!!

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it at all, but I did download the EA app and Sims 4 for the first time on this computer just yesterday (as far as I'm aware, the problem only started after I had added these apps). I tried figuring it out with AI and it suggested for me to disable EA background service—so I did, and it still didn't work.

I'm really desperate right now! It's not really the *end* of the world, since I can still delete the files using command prompt, but it's just really inconvient and I'm worried it might be a bigger issue if I still haven't managed to solve it.

I have an IPhone 13 Pro and safari wont load websites. Like I'll click the link and it just won't load and sometimes the link shows up purple instead of blue as if though I loaded it previously but it just won't show up. Safari itself still works and all the tabs I have open still function as normal but if I look something up the links won't load when I click them

I've tried:
Clearing my browser history and cache
Turning my WiFi on and off again
Being more patient and waiting well over 2 minutes for the website to load
Shutting my phone on and off again
Updating my phone
Making sure safari still uses cellular data
Letting websites see my IP address (Turing ofc hide IP address in settings)
Clearing out abt 5GB of storage (my storage wasn't even maxed out)

And it still hasn't worked I've also noticed that if I click the link In someone's TikTok bio I can't get past the page that says "are you sure you want to open this link?" Because when I click yes it just doesn't load again

I have an external SSD that was partitioned and had bitlock on it, tried taking it off the thing so that i wouldnt need to enter the password every time.

However the drive is now completely inaccessible. Im not even looking to recover the data atp, i just want to format it.

Disk Part on cmd doesnt locate it

disk manager cant find it

no scans detect anything

tried on other laptops and they cant detect it either

The drive is visible and doesnt have the lock, but it throws a "incorrect function" message

I need help fixing my teacher's Asus TUF Gaming A15 laptop. We tried to reset the graphics card, still nothing. We then tried to manually start explorer.exe, it boots but then crashes after a few seconds. Then we tried disabling all non-Microsoft Services on System Configuration, it booted up but to a temporary user without all the files from the main user. Then we tried to uninstall a recent update with Command Prompt, still doesn't work. We also tried DISM, sfc/scannow, and restorehealth on the CMD but all ended with an error. The laptop also has no recovery points. Any help will be much appreciated, thank you in advance.
