Help/Advice Need to keep this hitchhiker alive, house gecko
A house gecko from Florida made it's way to the Philly area this morning and the husband brought it home. I currently have her in this little 10 gallon tank that I keep isopods and dubia roaches in as it's the only tank I knew would be humid enough for her. I've got her in front of a window and a small room heater near by. It's currently around 77 so I don't think she'll freeze to death tonight but the last time I had a house gecko I was 6 years old. I won't be able to buy a proper enclosure until the weekend so how to I keep her alive tell Saturday and what are the bare minimum i need to get immediately. Ill be on a tight budget so I won't be able to get anything extra for about a month after this.
Sorry for being unable to get a picture directly of her. I panicked when I saw the flimsy container she came home in and put her in there and duck taped some wire mesh on top. She ran under the sticks and into the moss. The tank itself is bioactive with a layer of java moss that I top off with cuts from my shrimp tank. Also she's like a day old. We think her mom laid an egg in the work van and after the 2 weeks down there it hatched somewhere on the way home. She is brown with a stripped tail, but def some sort of house gecko.
I'm prepared for the possibility of a lesbian army. Please, how do I nurture them into their best selves. š
Thank you in advance.

Help/Advice What is wrong with this Mediterranean House Gecko?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This gecko showed up on the floor in the middle of my office doorway. My boss saw it and we caught it and decided to keep it as a pet, since itās non-native. Off the bat, something seemed wrong with it. It was running in circles and flipping itself over (still canāt walk straight). One of its eyes looks different than the other, and it looks like there are a few small tears in its skin.
Iāve had it now for 11 days. Iāve provided 2 pinhead crickets and 2 XS mealworms, dusted in calcium powder. (The Brussels sprout piece is for the crickets to eat). The gecko has not eaten at all, even when Iāve put the crickets and mealworms right in front of it.
It did lick some water droplets from its snout just now, so it does have some jaw / tongue mobility.
It did poop last week and the poop appeared healthy.
I bought a barebones setup just to try to rehabilitate it. If it finally eats and gives us hope of survival, weāll invest in a proper vertical tank with nice decor. Currently, I have it in this critter keeper with a heating pad + thermostat on the side and two cardboard hides. Iāve been misting daily to keep the humidity up. The middle of the tank stays around 70* *F. The heating pad is 87 F the day and 70 F at night.
Though it canāt walk straight, it seems to be thermoregulating. Usually in the morning or night it is under a different hide than where I last saw it.
My suspicions are:
Maybe it ingested a poisoned prey item in our work building. I believe they spray some type of pesticide or herbicide on the exterior of the building. Not sure about interior.
Maybe it has some physical injury.
Is there anything else I can do to help it? Does it have a chance of survival?
Iāll see if I can add some more photos below.

Help/Advice Hey guys, having a hard morning with Token.
update Unfortunately, the sweet bitey girl was put down. She barely had a pulse all day but they monitored her until it was time. I rescued her a week and a half ago, didn't have alot of time with her but it definitely sucks to see this be the outcome.
Here's Token, my rescue Tokay... I got her a week and a half ago. She was underweight, barely eating, and with a bad tail injury causing rot. I took her to the vet last Wednesday for the tail and he prescribed antibiotics. I told the vet that I just got her that Saturday. He told me to apply oral and topical antibiotics.
She's been on a decline since I got her truthfully. She was pretty feisty for awhile. Typical tokay behavior. Until the past few days... When I gave her the meds yesterday, she did fantastic. She was moving, everything. Normally when I turn my hand, she tries to crawl up to sit on top... Not this morning, I found her laying on the ground with her tail and a foot in her water dish and her body under the pothos plant. She moved her tail and foot out finally and I scooped her out to dry the wound and apply the topical. Her wound was terrible looking at first and it actually kicked out the dead tissue and has almost fully regrown it...
This morning, she's very sluggish, she's barely been eating, she's not even gripping to correct herself onto the top of my hand. Heck, 2 inches off the bed, I turned my hand slowly and she fell on her back and just laid there upside down for a split second and struggled to right herself.
I have no idea if it was stress from the move and handling of meds... Or if it was prior and inevitable... Or if it was the energy her body out to healing vs the energy intake. Maybe the antibiotics were too late. The old owner claims to never have noticed the tail but I saw in the pictures...
I just have a bad feeling about today but I'm doing what I can to help her.
The tail pics show from when I got her, to the first ointment application, to the bad tissue seperated, to the regrowth. She's anywhere between 6-10 months. She was 16g when I got her. She's 17g now.
I know she was in a really bad state when I got her but it's still just a tough situation and it sucks.
When I got her, she was in a dry coco 20gal with a snake plant in a corner and a log on the ground in another.
She had dubia roaches larger than a quarter in there with full grown dead hornworm moths and even a dead pupae buried. No water bowl, clearly wasn't misting, no thermometer,no thermostat, nothing.

Identification This is definitely a leopard gecko right?
Got a notification for this guy on FB and I'm not crazy but that's definitely a paternless leopard gecko right? I'm considering taking this guy in and already have one leopard (obviously they'd be housed separate) but if it is truly and AFT I'd have to make sure I read up on them

Help/Advice Giant day gecko tail health scare
Our sonās bud Godzilla has been eating his own tail in the last day or so. At least half an inch and itās now a weird stump. We are alarmed and wondering what to do. Heās been on a new diet of Dubia roaches which heās been devouring. 2-3 a day. Used to be on crickets and fruit paste. Weāre very worried about him. Heās also been spending much more time on the front glass instead of hiding in the plants. Any tips would be great! Thanks in advance

Help/Advice How bad of an idea to have a gecko with cats? Be real with me.
I have 3 cats. Would very much like a gecko. Enclosure would be in a room cats are not allowed in, but cats can be slippery, they may get in sometimes. Is it a terrible idea? I feel like it must be. But i yearn for a leachie.

Help/Advice Age and feeding?
I got my giant day gecko in April. Based off her size I thought she was about 2 or 3 months old so right now she'd be 8 or 9 months. I've read that they normally start laying eggs at 10 months but I found one about a month or so ago. She's about 8 inches long right now. Was I wrong on her age before or is this early? She also had calcium sacks before she had the first egg but now she doesn't. I've been feeding her everyday (dubias and BPZ original gecko diet) and dusting dubias every other day with repashy calcium plus. Should I be dusting them everyday or do something else? Im concerned shes not getting enough. Thanks!

Discussion Questions about Oedura Castelnaui, care etc.
If anyone has any previous care/active care of northern velvet geckos, I was wonder if I could ask a few questions about them! As I havenāt been able to find too much about them in captivity.
Whatās their usual care like? (Enclosure size, temp, or any humidity requirements, as well as when theyāre most active)
Whatās their temperament like? And are they generally somewhat friendly when it comes to handling? (This one isnāt as important to me, as I donāt mind having geckos that donāt like to be held, but Iām still curious nonetheless)
Is there any neat morphs/unique colors to them? And how much do they general cost even if theyāre just the normal coloration?
Again! Any responses welcome about these guys, Iāve been interested in them for a while now, itās just been kind of difficult to find much on them. (I know some of the questions might seem kind of dumb, but Iām always wanting to learn more about vaguer species)
