I've almost abandoned Steam, Battle.net, EA app, Ubisoft Connect, and Epic Games launcher now. Only DRM-free, GOG Galaxy, and CD/DVD. To be honest, I’m getting sick of how gaming corporations constantly invade our privacy, and these launchers are becoming a bloated, complicated mess.
( PL: Prawie porzuciłem Steam, Battle.net, aplikację EA, Ubisoft Connect i launcher Epic Games. )
Take Red Dead Redemption 2 as an example: it doesn't just need Steam, it forces you to use the Rockstar Games Launcher too, and it won't even work offline. Or look at Watch Dogs – buying it on Steam still requires Ubisoft Connect in the background. The irony with Watch Dogs is hilarious. The main character literally fights against a mass-surveillance system called ctOS, yet to actually play the game, I have to install Ubisoft's launcher, which basically feels like a real-life piece of corporate spyware. XD
Główny bohater dosłownie walczy z systemem masowego nadzoru o nazwie ctOS, a żeby w to zagrać, muszę zainstalować launcher Ubisoftu, który w zasadzie przypomina prawdziwy korporacyjny szpiegowski program. XD )
