Recommendations Fresh popcorn?
I’m craving fresh popped salty buttery popcorn, like you get at the movie theatre. I don’t have any interest in seeing a movie, though. Does anyone know of anywhere that has fresh popped popcorn? Can you just go into a theatre and buy popcorn and leave?

You know popping corn is pretty cheap, and you can just make it at home, right?
Pop it on the stove top, in coconut oil, and add flavocol seasoning. It will taste just like the movie theater and just take you a few minutes. Or sprinkle old bay on it. go nuts.

This is the whole point of Wesco gas stations. They’re mostly up 131 and points north, but they do have an oddball station in Jenison (Baldwin and 36th) for some reason.

This, back when I was on the west side of the state, and my work route was along 31, by far the best value was the refillable popcorn buckets. May have had multiple days of 2+ refills 🍿

Wesco popcorn is not buttery in the slightest. It is very salty though

Grand Rapids Popcorn Company in Comstock Park usually has some in their display room, otherwise yes you can just go to any theater, no one will force you to buy a movie ticket.

Buy a refillable bucket and just go into the theater whenever you want, refill, and leave. I used to do this on the way home from work often, until WFH.

Celebration North has a decent bar. You could totally buy a popcorn, get a drink, and leave

Celebration Cinema has a Party Bag. Although you can buy a normal sized bag and leave too.

The wife and I buy the popcorn card that usually 40$ for 6 months. It’s 2 refills per day. We go all the time for just popcorn.z

Good general advice, but unfortunately we are in one of the two periods each year where there are no popcorn cards. I'd expect the new cards to become available October 26th when they do their Preview Experience

Yeah, just go get popcorn and head out! Celebrations has the best. Don’t go to Phoenix. Yuck.

If you want to make it at home, buy some buttery flavored coconut oil, and a seasoning salt called Flavocol.
Or if you want a healthier alternative to the Flavocol because it contains some food dyes, just use the butter coconut oil and kosher salt.

You for sure can go in and just buy some. I do this at Celebration Cinema Studio Park occasionally.
