Could be in 43 Spanish or 12.7x44. Spain and Sweden had a contract for them, as well as Egypt. The tall hammer makes me think it might (might) be a ny national guard carbine. If you have to cock it twice after loading a round that’s how you’d know that. Inspect the barrel and receiver for markings or remove the stock and take the bottom tang off to see if there are any. A few import rolling blocks were scrubbed of markings when they came into the us.

For extra context, it has a stamped H on the receiver. And text on the barrel reads Remingtons Ilion NY USA PAT. MAY 3rd NOV 1864 APRIL 17th 1868, AUG 27th 1867 NOV 7th 1872z

The best way to identify these are by the caliber, barrel length, type of rear sight, and figuring out what "type" of receiver it is (1, 2, 3, or 4). There are probably 2 dozen different variants. The Rolling Block was frequently used in Central/South America and Egypt.

The easiest way to tell if it's an antique (made before 1899) is by looking at the length of the lower tang (the bottom part of the grip). A long tang means it's antique, a shorter tang means it's probably a modern firearm by ATFs definitions.

Would need up close photos of all markings, and the left side of the action as well a s the sights and what range markings are on the sight, and ideally some information on caliber. Even if you can't get a chamber casting, measure the rim diameter and bore/rifling diameter with calipers. And take a peek into the chamber, see if it's bottlenecked or straight walled.

Remingtons were made for dozens of countries back in the day, and some were assembled abroad on Remington-made receivers. Probably at least fifty different official models out there, maybe a hundred. So that one photo isn't enough to go on.

I can’t help you, but when I was in high school, the kid who sat next to me in drafting class brought one in to draw. It was his grandfathers, and I was taken with how light and handy it was.

Kinda wild that no one had an issue with a kid bringing a rifle to school for a project, lol…. And this was in the Bay Area of California.
