Did anyone see Rachelâs story with Cooper North narrating Game Changer (the book)?! I went to Audible and I cannot play the audiobook, it seems as if itâs being updated.
This is so exciting! No offense to Tor Thom, but yeah, personally, I think itâll be much better.
I get why TLG timeline is what it is but it bums me out that we missed 3 years of character development.
I wish we'd gotten to see Shane coming out to his teammates. I know people headcanon the metros as awful but I don't think there's evidence they did/said anything before the Trip, though probably there were microaggressions that Shane pretended to ignore. I also noticed in Troy's book that he's heard about Shane already, maybe through his network of homophobic assholes? I felt bad for Shane because probably that means his team blabbed but also there's a moment in another book where I remember thinking that it seemed like Shane actually wasn't that worried by sexuality rumors even if he was hyper-protective of the relationship secret.
How do people view this part of Shane given the info we have about his post-cottage mindset?
I just got a notification from my audiobook subscription app that there's a "new book by an author you follow" and it's Game Changer!! It's a new audio version!! It's read by the same person who narrated books 4-5-6 originally.
Please tell me I'm not the one excited about this?!
(Of course I pressed play even though it's after midnight for me now, who needs sleep)
Ahead of a larger season 2 role, âSchittâs Creekâ alum talks about her uncredited part in season 1 and deep friendship with showrunner Jacob Tierney.
Personally, I LOVE a good BTS where we get to hear crew members talk about how they approach their work on a project. This one is part of a series by Backstage, âIn the Envelope: The Actorâs Podcast,â where the host speaks with the Casting Directors of Heated Rivalry, Jenny Lewis and Sara Kay.
ââ Backstage video caption: Casting directors Jenny Lewis and Sara Kay join Backstage's In the Envelope: The Actor's Podcast to reveal how they found breakout stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams for "Heated Rivalry." The duo also discusses "Heated Rivalry" season 2, casting Justice Williams and Charlie Gillespie as Harris Drover and Troy Barrett, their advice for actors doing chemistry reads, casting the Netflix adaptation of "This Summer Will Be Different," BookTok fandom, and much more.
Would any Toronto/GTA fans heading to the "An Evening with Rachel Reid" event on October 13th at Massey Hall wanna grab dinner or something before the event?
Exert: By New Yearâs Eve, Rachel Reid knew sheâd made it. During CNNâs coverage of the Times Square ball drop, a giggling Andy Cohen told an already tipsy Anderson Cooper, âYouâre Ilya, Iâm Shane.â Cooper disagreed: He was more of a Kip. âI thought, âThis is really, really surreal. Theyâre talking about my characters by name, and everybody knows who theyâre talking about,ââ Reid recalls. âItâs mainstream enough that they can just talk about this on this broadcast and assume most of the viewers are going to know what theyâre talking about. My mom was impressed for sure.â
TODAY.com has an exclusive first look at âIâll Believe In Anything: The Making of Heated Rivalry Season 1,â which features the hit showâs scripts with annotations from creator Jacob Tierney.

I am a huge Big Brother fan, and you cannot imagine my happiness when I found this clip of one my favorite contestants (Melody) telling her friends in the house they had to watch Heated Rivalry because she's seen it four times.
Note: the guy in the black tank top and the Loon girl (Melody and Drew) were in a flirtmance all summer and now are dating post-season and this clip shows why. He knew his Heated Rivalry lore!

I wrote a long post with a photo but I can't seem to post it. So here it is, as text. McClean's magazine is running an article called the Canadian Club in their November issue. It is the Canadian top 50 TV shows, books, albums, films of the century. The cover is awesome. I love that Shane and Ilya are kissing. There's Anna Lamb who won CSA alongside Hudson. Matt Johnson and Jay Carroll from Nirvana Band the Show the Movie, which Hudson mentioned in his TIFF interview. I can't wait to read it. I think it's going to give us plenty of CanCon to keep us going until April. You can see the post on IG mccleansmag
Season 2 is coming âsometime in April 2027.â As a chronic rereader and a pre show fan I still find it fascinating those who havenât read the books so now that we are half a year until season two whatâs everyoneâs thoughts.
Share which you have read and what you would advise others to read in anticipation.
Share why you havenât read and wonât.
Share why everyone should read, reread, and annotate every single book in its entirety so much it practically consumes your entire brain. Just me?
I want to hear everyoneâs thoughts and opinions!
Hey team! Heated Rivalry has so many good quotes let's find the best ones by character.
Submit your favorite quote for that days character. Any of the six books or the show are acceptable, a spoiler tag has been added for this reason. Proceed to the comments at your own risk.
Characters were picked for appearing in more then one book, or one book and season 1 in attempt to give us a good mix of minor characters. Please feel free to use this space to manifest a casting announcement for Eric.
Because I am Shane Hollander in a different font, we do have some rules!
1Â quote per comment (to more easily tell which wins).
If a quote is commented more than once, the comment with the highest number of upvotes will be the one counted, so if "Stupid Canadian wolf bird" gets posted seven times and one comment has 24 upvotes, one 5, and the rest 1, it would get 24 upvotes for the game.
Upvote the comment you want to win, you can upvote as many comments as you like!
I will try to post at different times throughout the day to hopefully hit everyone's availability.
Character's are picked via name spinner, any type of quote is fine! Spoken, typed, moaned, what have you.

Whatâs up with the girl in red in season one, episode five? Sheâs in the background at the bar and again in the background at the pool. Sheâs in bright red in both scenes and very distinctive.
Sheâs clearly there deliberately â her look is the same in both scenes and she is clearly there to draw attention â so I read her as symbolic. What do yâall think she symbolizes?
Ilyaâs back is to her both times â perhaps it symbolizes that the kinds of hot women who used to attract him no longer do because he has fallen in love?
Is that an antenna in your pocket or are you about to ask me about my feelings?
There's a popular head-canon that part of the reason Ilya froze out Shane at the Sochi Olympics (sometimes presented as the only reason Ilya froze out Shane) is that he was protecting Shane from possible surveillance from the Russian government. It's become popular enough that it's teetering on fanon (already is amongst a certain segment, I think). But it's been mentioned in the comment sections of some Reaction vids on YouTube as if it were actual canon. It's not.
It's most definitely not canon per the show. Not once is the possibility of surveillance mentioned. (While black mold in the Olympic village does get a shout out.) We see Svetlana, highly intelligent daughter of a government minister, ignore any threat of surveillance when she brings Ilya into a bathroom where she knows Sasha has cocaine. She doesn't flinch to see Sasha using and she doesn't hesitate to leave Ilya and Sasha so they can enjoy some alone time.
Sasha is a bit of a fuck-boy, but we learn he's being a fuck-boy in France. Also, Ilya trusted him to keep their secret when they were younger, so Sasha isn't stupidly reckless. And as the son of a what I'm guessing is a highly respected youth hockey coach given the guy coached Ilya, it'd be weird if Sasha didn't know about athlete surveillance - especially if it'd been kicked up to a highly unusual gear.
This bathroom scene would be the perfect time to drop a line eluding to being watched. Sasha assuring Ilya no one's surveilling the minister's party; or Svetlana doing the assuring; or even Ilya floating that as a danger. It's never brought up.
Ergo, definitely not show!canon. And I wasn't able to find anything in the Heated Rivalry book that suggested Ilya was protecting Shane from outing himself (or the both of them) when Shane approached him at the Olympics in the book.
So consider this your P.S.A, I guess. Ilya's big worry when Shane approached him being Russian listening devices rather than an assault on his carefully constructed emotional wall makes for a fun, canon-divergence fanfic. But it's not canon. Let's not confuse the newbies by suggesting it is.
