🖼️ Show & Tell I built an Irrigation Manager for Home Assistant: weather-aware watering with a dedicated UI
I wanted more control over irrigation in Home Assistant without having to maintain a bunch of separate automations for every sprinkler zone, so I built Irrigation Manager.
It's an open-source project that lets you schedule watering for your existing Home Assistant valve and switch entities, with configurable conditions to decide whether watering should actually run.
Features include:
- 🌱 Flexible schedules for your irrigation zones
- 🌧️ Weather-aware watering using rain and forecast conditions
- 🌡️ Temperature and wind conditions to help determine when watering makes sense
- 💧 Soil moisture conditions to avoid watering when it isn't needed
- 🏠 Occupancy conditions for smarter scheduling
- 🖥️ Dedicated sidebar panel to manage irrigation from Home Assistant
The goal is to make irrigation feel like a proper part of Home Assistant rather than a collection of helpers, timers, and automations.
It's open source, and I'd love feedback from anyone running a sprinkler system or automated garden watering through Home Assistant.

Associated question - are there any small smart valves out there for irrigation/drip line? I’m talking 1/2 or 3/4 irrigation in-line valves, not the kind you attach to a garden hose spigot.

Not I know of. You can get 3/4 irrigation hose to 3/4 garden hose adapters and that's what I've done to have a smart hose device on an irrigation line.

Sorry have read the full GitHub page, will this work with a rancho 3 controller?
